We are still looking for a solution! I think someone should make a youtube vid showing EXACTLY how to do it with XP, and one with Vista. Then a star goes to that person

So I just used rages guide tonight and streamed myself figuring things out. Thanks to rage for the guide it was awesome! I used vista and camtasia 5. It is quite rough as I was learning as I went and will probably redo another tomorrow which sill be better with audio commentary and other things. My livestream is livestream.com/xtonx. Not sure what else too say but hope it might help someone?
edit: I want to make it very clear that in the stream of me settings things up that i inserted the wrong rtmp originally!!!! it should stay as mogulus and not livestream. I'm retarded and attempted changing it. Thanks!
edit2: I just finished rerecording a mini tutorial on my stream at livestream.com/xtonx of how to install these things using vista and rage's guide. Hope it helps someone and if I epic failed anywhere please let me know ^^.

does anybody has the problem that the audio goes way ahead and the video lags only when streaming live?
when I check the recorded file everything is perfect but the viewers say the sound goes behind or way ahead...

can anyone post their settings here?
i really want to find out why my stream doesn't have unit sounds :<
for sounds, i have Speakers and Realtek Digital Output for my 'Playback' tab, and Microphone, Line In (disabled), Realtek Digital Input, CD Audio and Stereo Mix for my 'Recording' tab. Currently, Stereo Mix is my default device.
Under Audio for my camtasia recorder, the device is Stereo Mix (Realtek High Definition) and so is the device choice for my FMLE. When I go 'settings' for audio in FMLE, pin line input mix is enabled and under Pin Line, it's 'Master Volume'.
|
You know that stereo is 2 channels right? probably FMLE is just picking up 1 of the channels and leaving the other one out, maybe thats why you pick 1 kind of sound (clicking, starcraft music) but dont get the other one (unit sounds)... I am not an expert on this but that is probably because those sounds are in different channels... Try setting everything to MONO instead of stereo, I know that in FMLE you can select mono instead of stereo but I am not sure if your realtek card allows that.
That might not fix it, but is a start where you can check.
SoundCard: SoundBlaster Audigy Settings Recording tab: "What you Hear" Settings Playback: Microphone unmuted
I can hear starcraft sounds + my microphone.
My FMLE settings:
+ Show Spoiler +[Camtasia] Codec: x264 Lossless format [Camtasia] Codec special Setting: Interlaced checked [Camtasia] Resolution: 640x480 [FMLE] Codec: H.264 [FMLE] Codec Settings: Main - 3.1 - 5 seconds keyframe [FMLE] Frames Per Second: 15 [FMLE] Output Resolution: 560x420 [FMLE] Output Bitrate: 200Kbps [FMLE] Output Special Setting: Deinterlace checked [FMLE] Audio Codec: Mp3 [FMLE] Audio Channels: Mono [FMLE] Audio Hz: 44100 [FMLE] Audio Bitrate: 56Kbps

Name of the test record: ---[x264L 640x480]/H.264-[M]3.1[5]/15fps/560x420@200Kbps[interlace +deinterlace]/Mp3[M]22050Hz@56Kbps *256Kbps*---
My only problem is when going live, I am not sure because I havent tested enough but some people have told me that my audio goes behind or way ahead... I guess it has to do with the bitrate or something similar... when I see the recorded session my audio is perfect except for a constant glitch... the audio stops for a few milliseconds (almost unnoticeable but still annoying) every x seconds, sometimes it records perfectly some others it has the glitch, havent figure it out yet...
My PC is a Core2Duo 2.5Ghz with 4GB ram and encoding takes 90% of the CPU I have a 15Mbps/1Mbps connection so I should be able to stream ok, can anybody recommend me settings?
how about you kona, you stream perfectly how are your settings?
|
Hey I have streamed before like 4months ago or so, but then i stopped it, until i started to stream again now, but my setting etc were so messed up with camtasia and abode that i needed to re-install them np yet, i got the stream going etc BUT my hotkeys (camtasia) arent working so my colors are messed up , any solution for this please? I have vista and camtasia 5.0.2.

tools > options > hotkeys tab... if that doesnt work uninstall with a program like Revo Uninstaller that deletes EVERYTHING from your computer that has to do with that program and then you reinstall again.

I think you got me all wrong, or maybe i just explained badly. I'm saying that my hotkeys aren't working while im in starcraft (f 9 start, f11 stop ) so thats why the colors are messed up all the time.

oh I see... did you try changing them to another hotkeys? I use F7 and F8 because they are closer together...
if it still wont work my first suggestion is still valid, try uninstalling the program but try it with one of those uninstallers that actually takes care of all left over files on your PC like REVO or any other of that kind, since it can happen that some files are corrupted or misplaced.
The other thing is that maybe you thought it is in F9 and F11 but you didnt notice that it has the Ctrl box checked or something similar.

If you dont install the x264 codec then you wont have the option in FMLE to encode in H.264 and the only codec you will have is the VP6 which in my case didnt work at all because it was dropping so many frames that it looked like it was taking a picture every 5 seconds...
also the CPU required to encode in VP6 was much more than when I encode in x.264 but that can be just in my pc.

:O didnt know that, and it is a shame because the h.264 only encodes to .f4v format, when you stream it to a file... :S

download THIS program, is called Prio and what it does is that it saves the priority of tasks and affinity...
what does priority and affinity of a program mean?
+ Show Spoiler [Answer. In case you didnt know:] +Windows have the ability to prioritize certain processes over others, to do that you press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and look for the name of the process, right click on it and in priority you put it on high (dont ever put anything in realtime if you dont have a good processor).
The problem is that windows dont save those settings, so every time you open the program you would have to go and set the priority. That program that I told you about saves the settings so you dont have to do it over and over again.
The affinity is in which core you want that that program runs (if you have more than one core of course). To change that, you do the same as before but instead of priority you go to affinity and select the core or cores you want that program running on. I noticed that Prio also saves that even though they dont mention it.... or probably I am doing that i dont know :D
Here is what you have to do.
First keep Starcraft and FMLE in separate cores, I have SC in core 0 and FMLE in core 1. Put Starcraft as High Priority and set FMLE to above normal priority. I also have camtasia in above normal. And if you have Prio those settings are going to be retained every time you start those programs. Cool right?
with that you should get almost no lag or no lag at all depending on your CPU speed and your RAM.
If you cant save the affinity with prio try imagecfg gui. I would be careful with that last program because it modifies the exe file, so if you use it make a backup copy of your exe before you modify it.

Thanx for the help it really worked !!! Thank god there are good guys like you ! Cheers !

Thanks for the guide, i had super trouble trying to set it up with Camtasia 5 and finally went and found a copy of 4. No problems after that, except that one of your screens for FMLE shows bitrate for 650 which is beyond what unverified users can use. However after solving these small issues its all working great! Thanks a bunch.

Yeah, when I made the guide livestream had no max bitrate.
