I cant record without disableing hardware acceleration, otherwise it lags like hell...we're talking .5 FPS while recording in starcraft. But if I disable it, Adobe flash media encoder won't work, since it requires hardware acceleration, so either way im fucked.
Anyone got an idea how to fix it so I can either record with hardware acceleration or stream without hardware acceleration?
Would really like some help here :--)

Ugh I've been at this for like 3 days now. I've enabled "Stereo Mix" but it doesn't seem to do anything. I have the Realtek HD Audio Manager and I'm running Windows XP. If anyone can help out with my in game sound recording that'd be awesome.
|
Hmm...everything is working really well. The only problem is that when I try to record audio, I get a huge amount of static, and the sound that's supposed to be heard turns out to be a huge screech or huge staticy sound.
My device is listed as Realtek AC97. The only problem is that it doesn't record anything, and when I turn it onto a different setting in FLME, it gives me that horrendous noise. If I try recording with my mic, it has so much feedback that it kills the ears.
Anyone have any suggestions? Is it something that I'm missing out on? Or is it because my hardware sucks really bad?

Would really like some help here :--) System specs? Also try closing down every single program other than camtasia, FMLE, and SC. That includes whatever the hell else might be lurking in your process list.

Anyone have any suggestions? Is it something that I'm missing out on? Or is it because my hardware sucks really bad? Feedback? Plug in some headphones. You just can't let any noise from the speakers hit the microphone. As for your other problem, are you using stereo mix?
|
Yeah, I'm using stereo mix. But it just makes such a huge static noise. You choose the device in FMLE and in settings, you put in stereo mix right? If so, yeah, I'm getting that crazy sound.
EDIT: Fixed. I was monitoring audio on my computer, so basically, I created a never ending feedback loop, which wasn't good.
Thanks for everyone's help! :D

With most sound cards, if you don't mute either Stereo Mix or Microphone, you're gonna get that static.
That's what I have anyway, and I also have a Realtek card.
So go to your recording options and mute everything except the General Recording Volume and the input you want (Stereo Mix/Microphone/Line in)

Thanks! Although I'm sort of not getting the entire concept. I tried muting everything, but it still didn't work out the way that I wanted it to. It gave me static, and it also kept playing the stuff I was hearing on the player even after I turned off the stream. I'm not really sure what the problem is.

usually happens when your total bitrate exceeds 500kbps

Remember that it's audio and video combined.

There you go. Use Firefox. Chrome works too.

Neither work, both give the same message ;__;

Ok... Are you the administrator? Try pressing "Deny" to see if it also crashes.
|
Deny causes it not to stream Thanks for trying, i found the solution! Have to go to adobe website and theres an online settings thingy you can use there to always allow from certain websites automatically \o/

I had that, I noticed that sometimes right click on the desktop > Properties > settings and changing the colors to 16 bit fixes the problem... the only thing is that you have to start camtasia AFTER you are in the game... so if you have camtasia open you can try to hit the hotkeys to stop and start very quickly and it should be fine.
My problem is that I have it all setup by the book, I can see my stream and all but even though I setup camtasia and FMLE to 620x480 or even 800x600, in livestream I can only see a very small part of the video... I have tried zooming out and nothing it is always like if it was in 320x480 the whole time... If I use procaster the stream of my desktop is perfect but of course i cant stream starcraft... any ideas?
EDIT: ------------
By reading the thread I saw that this is a common problem with camtasia it cuts some inches for some reason and just records the middle of the screen... bleh what a problem...
I am trying WebcamMax right now and it seems to work better but I always get black screen with it when inside SC... in Camtasia I could stop start the recording and it would fix the screen right away... btw if you click on start recording when you ARE already recording it will give you the error of a "filename not found" is nothing big is just that you are not stopping it before starting it again.
I am able to stream from camtasia directly to livestream without FMLE if you allow adobe to access your hardware, I havent been able to stream from FMLE to livestream properly all I get is a black screen in livestream the whole time maybe they disable it?
Any Ideas on what can i do?>
camtasia is not recording enough area to stream SC and WebcamMax is not able to record SC with colors...

Only Camtasia can capture full screen SC, you can uninstall WebcamMax cause it's not gonna work.
The resolution problem, like you mentioned, is very common, and has a lot of possible fixes. Gotta search the thread for them.

Thank you rage for making the tutorial! Everything is working great and I managed to get it running with a great quality!
my specs:
XP Core2Duo 2.50 Ghz 4Gb Ram Sound Blaster Audigy with the "What you hear" option on to pick up mic + starcraft sound... note that you have to unmute the mic on the playback panel so you can actually pick up the sound of the mic in your stream.
ADSL 15,000 kbps Download 1,024 kbps upload
Camtasia 5.02 FMLE 3.0
+ Show Spoiler [Camtasia Settings] +
I am using x264 codec you can download it Here
+ Show Spoiler [x264 Settings] +
+ Show Spoiler [FMLE Settings] +
Now the interesting part...
In FMLE I put some settings that my conection allowed, 350kbps as bandwidth can give great quality so you dont have to use the 500k if you dont want, specially if you cant.
Note that you CANT change the name of the stream, if you change where it says "livestream" on the right side YOU WILL NOT GET IMAGE... at least I couldnt until i changed it to livestream again.
I was using the x264 codec and it worked flawlessly I put the settings there as shown in the images...
As you can see in the next images down there, if you see the little square with green color that is my CPU usage, you can see that is 100% right? yeah encoding takes a lot so... after you know that your channel is live close firefox, trust me it helps a lot.
Also play with affinity and priority settings. I have FMLE in a separate core than starcraft and I have high priority in starcraft so it doesnt lag, I also have CPU Throttling on in starcraft and I disabled cycling colors or something like that on the video menu also in starcraft.
When you start streaming the first cam will be zoomed in... that is normal and that is not the one that you will use. You will cue (If you dont have it done automatically) the other one that says "livestream"
+ Show Spoiler [Almost done] +
Note that you will not get image for a few seconds probably even 30 seconds... that is normal and still the other people can see your desktop even if you cant see it yourself there in livestream I confirmed that out.
+ Show Spoiler [Channel is Live!] +
In the last image you can see that livestream picked up my image and my channel is streaming live!
