MOD EDIT: THIS THREAD IS FOR STORING PLAYS OVER THE COURSE OF THE 2009 YEAR

On January 10 2009 14:21 Abydos1 wrote:
For anyone linking youtube videos you can have them start at a specified time by appending &start=time where time is the start time in seconds.:

That's right damn it! No more of this "waiting until the end of the year" to compile a list of amazing plays. We've proven over the last 3 years that the old method for PP's just doesn't cut it in this age of massive number of games.

Here's the deal. You find a great move, whether it be strategy, decision making, deception, build order, micro move, whatever! You find it, you post it here with COMPLETE description and information. If you don't want your find to be overlooked, it's in your best interest to provide as much information as possible to me right?

So when you find a great play, fill in this data!!

Date
League Name - round of XX
Player 1 vs Player 2
Map Name
Link to vod or replay(foreign game), with time marker in the video!!
Description of Player X doing the Pimp move and how it changed the game and totally rocked!!

The recent Pimpest Plays have failed to come out because of the massive amount of work the small number of PP staff had to do to filter through the submissions. By distributing the workload onto the potential of the TL community, I'm confident that we'll have a much easier and actually fun time doing this. I'll be doing my part by keeping this OP up to date, so long as you guys make it easy for ME to do that by following the above guidelines.

Hell we might as well make this TL's own inaugural "Liquid Plays 2009" since we're doing all the work!! <3 (I was going to name this thread Pimpest Plays 2009, but decided to change it at last minute, hell I dont even have permission from the site staff but screw them I'm going ahead and making this shite anyways!)

Go forth my minions!

Time marker not needed because the amazingness extends throughout the game.
Light Center BBS bunker rushes against Tempest's 1 gate range dragoon first. Tempest shows absolutely mindblowing micro, starting with probe/goon defense and ending with just extended stretches of flawless dragoon control with just ONE DRAGOON! The dragoon ends up with 32(33 after Light types out) kills by the time Light types out.

Winner's League 2009 - KTF vs ACE game 2
Hoejja vs Anytime
Destination
+ Show Spoiler [Description by CDRDude] +

(P)Anytime vs (Z)HoeJJa on Destination. Anytime started with a normal FE on destination, and Hoejja went (i think) overpool gas. Instead of ling speed, Hoejja went for a burrow rush, and I think zergling speed as well.

(at 4:30)
Anytime already suspected something, because he had a cannon halfway completed. Even so, I think there were 3 probe kills, and mining time lost. Even when he could no longer reasonably attack probes, he had burrowed zerglings in Anytime's main, providing him with information, and probably altering anytime's building placement.

Even if the 3 probe kills didn't change the course of the game, having InfoLings(tm) in Anytime's base for about 5 minutes probably did. Additionally, at 8:52 the lings forced a cannon to cancel, and 30 seconds later got another probe kill (but sadly died in the effort).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwbd1UD1hbE#t=11m30s
(at 11:30)
Later in the game, Hoejja used the same trick again, but this time with lurkers, getting 2 lurkers into Anytime's main. Anytime still didn't have observers at the time, and lost a gateway because of it. While the initial burrow rush was surely the pimpest moment, Hoejja's use of burrow throughout the game was fantastic; killing probes, gaining 5 minutes worth of scouting information, canceling buildings, delaying Anytime's third, and destroying a gateway were all combined into an exceedingly clever strategy.

The majority of the games/moves for 2008 you should know already. You dont have to do it alone I can help if you want than it would be 1000 games each . After the moves are done we can organize them/get more people and if someone wants they can use the moves to make a highlight video. With this method i dont think this thread would live till the end of 2009. And you dont have to watch 2000 full games if the people who uploaded gave the time where the move occurs.

Would it be a good idea to include polls at the end of submissions to help the community rate a game's / play's epicness?

Poll: Should the whole community vote?
(Vote): Yes
(Vote): No

Though on second thought, a seasoned veteran such as yourself haji might make a better judge of a good play. Still I thought I'd throw the idea out there.

Do you not understand what a year is? It seems like you almost get the concept, but obviously something is eluding you.

This thread is for the best plays of 2009. As in January 1st 2009 through December 31st 2009. These are the days that make up the year 2009.

The play you posted is not from one of those days. It is from 2008. That doesn't mean it will be forgotten, it just means it belongs in the "best plays of 2008."

GOMTV Classic Season 2 - Quarterfinal
Flash v Bisu
+ Show Spoiler [Description] +
Game 3 - Destination

Link

No timecodes on GOM games, about 1/3 into the game.

One of the worst things you can do in a PvT is to 1a2a3a into a terran's natural when he has sieged tanks just waiting for you. However, this is exactly what the Revolutionist does. Exploiting the fact that Flash has most of his tanks sieged on the ridge over his third, Bisu quickly takes the opportunity to attack Flash's natural. Running in with several dragoons, a few speedlots, and a shuttle with one reaver, Bisu manages to force the command center to lift and takes down the comsat at the natural. He also manages to kill a few tanks and SCVs.

The insanity of this game continues when Bisu immediately attacks Flash's third. Since Flash had smartly built supply depots blocking the entrance, Bisu was only able to harrass them, but forced Flash to pull SCVs to repair. The game continues in a crazy back-and-forth manner that leaves Tasteless... well, Speechless. A very exciting game, definitely a must-see.

Sorry, I don't quite remember all the details but I remember being very impressed with this move. Perhaps someone can fill in the missing info if they remember.

Date - Early to Mid 2008

Terran vs Stork

-Stork goes super fast DT rush. With one zealot blocking the ramp.
-Terran is unable to get into Stork's base to scout, first scv returns to base just barely.
-After X amount, terran sends an additional scv to scout.
-Second scv scouts Stork's first dragoon outside the base which was placed kill additional scouting scvs while zealot still holds the ramp.
-Scv suddenly jerks BARELY in range of Range Upp'd goon.
(SCV was scouting whether the ranged was upp'd for the dragoon. If Dragoon does not open its canon while scv is in range, then this will give away that the gas has been spent elsewhere.)
-Stork, knowing this intention as well, as soon as he sees a dot in the mini map, suddenly force moves his dragoon so that it won't fire at all. Terran failed to see if the range has been upp'd or not.
-Terran guesses a DT rush anyway, and defends nicely against it.

That one simple mind game determined who wins the game. And I thought that was like... theorycraft move.

that doesnt make sense. stork would want him to think he got range, because that would mean no/later dt's and the t wouldnt be prepared. the fact that he hid range (if he even got it) would be what gave away the dt rush to the terran.
i think you're just reading too much into a goon moving a centimeter.

EntertainMe was indeed trying to argue that Stork was hiding the fact that he had no range.

This was pretty ballsy by Bisu, but definitely nothing super spectacular like you're making it out to be. It was a great and entertaining game played at the very highest of levels, but that's all it was: A great game.

I was about to post this as well.

Really really ballsy move by Bisu

should get around to updating everything by tomorrow, thanks for the corrections (like the red hp goon thing) and submissions.

I wouldnt be surprised though if Tempest's goon (STORM GOON!?!?) gets dropped to like honorable mention by the end of the year.

all of the flash vs bisu games were great, but i don't think they showcased anything incredible.
the bigger story seems to be bisu shaking off flash's pwnage and continuing his pvt success

This was pretty ballsy by Bisu, but definitely nothing super spectacular like you're making it out to be. It was a great and entertaining game played at the very highest of levels, but that's all it was: A great game.

Personally, I found this play pretty amazing. It's one of the few times I could actually appreciate the ingenuity employed by the progamers. We often see sweeping strategies and insane mechanics but rarely do we see tactics such as in this case. I think I'll remember this moment for years to come. Anyways, just another opinion here

What really was so mindblowing about the 3rd Game of the Flash Bisu Series was that Bisu totally forced his play upon Flash like I've never seen - exploiting his playstyle to the fullest. Normally you can't shake Flash up, he'd take and counter whatever you throw at him, but somehow Bisu did exactly that.
It wasn't a single move that made the game great, but the strategy behind it. Unfortunately that's hard to show in a pp2009-clip.

while a very slick move, I don't think it altered the course of the game at all, because he lost it to more scourge 30 seconds later

thats the point of this thread, to point out moves that were awesome, not games in general
precursor to pimpest plays 09 so all the good plays can be displayed and categorized

avoiding scourge like that with the shuttle even though it was empty is exactly the kind of thing that belongs in this thread (even though by this point bisu knew he won the game. otherwise he wouldnt have even bothered with that micro)

Apparently the move is supposed to be game changing :O
Also, why would he not bother with the micro if he wasn't sure he had it in the bag?
I would think that would make microing like that more important.
True the shuttle was empty, but a shuttle-less reaver's usefullness goes down by at least 1/2

In my book, a true Pimp move is one that completely changes the course of the game, like boxers lockdowning, or observer blinding, or Ra's hallucination recalling. Random cool micro tricks, while fun to watch, don't go under the category of pimp imo. For example, if boxer blinded all those obs, but didnt have the cloaked wraiths to clean up the carriers, it would be a cool micro trick that had little/no effect on the game.

I get the sense people are just posting things as they feel the need to post something, anything! Let's get some perspective on how sexy a play will need to be to be in a list come the end of the year.

ok heres a fucking insanely sexy move but I don't have a vod for it since it just happened in PGL. it is the first game pj vs kong on bluestorm and pj has about six carriers, one goon, and about 12 templars vs 30+ goliaths and about six tanks. you think hes just going to try to storm like a gosu but instead he halucinates insane amount of archons and carriers and charges in and somehow takes down this massive army in a blue storm stalemate. this hapepns about 50 minutes in and it was an AMAZING game

hm. this play probably wont make it by the end of the year, but leta's block of ruby's ramp with his barrack and proceeding to rape his scvs was pretty nice. game was funny all together in that ruby built five command centers but only two were in mining position: 1 tried to move to an expansion but got owned, 1 was built near his natural and a comsat was added, and another was being built before ruby gg'd

For anyone embedding youtube videos you can have them start at a specified time by appending &start=time where time is the start time in seconds.:

Edit: I thought I had seen a video here using that but it appears that the forum code is stripping out the start parameter (could have been a mod with html code), would it be possible to carry that over? I'm sure people would find it very useful.

This doesn't technically fit in, but I'd like to mention an UnPimpest Play:
+ Show Spoiler [OSL ro36 group L Winners game 1] +
Light vs Jaedong. Light had just snuck two dropships into JD's main, and then he promptly did this:

In case embedding the time doesn't work right, it's at 19:31. It probably had no effect on the outcome of the game as a whole, but Light managed to stim, and then kill his own marine. It could have been a misclick on a building, but the marine was in the middle of his own army.

edit: I should also point out that the method for embedding the time quoted in the OP is incorrect (or at least it doesn't work for my browser). Instead, try doing what SonuvBob said:

+ Show Spoiler [msl ro36 group B Winners match] +
1/22/09
Lost Saga MSL 2009 Round of 32 Group B
Luxury vs Leta
Destination

Leta with some standardly cheesy proxy fact into port. The cool part comes at 8:30 - after sieging tanks behind Luxury's natural Leta walls off his own tanks using a bunker, a depot, and a turret.

Light vs Jaedong. Light had just snuck two dropships into JD's main, and then he promptly did this:

From last night's KTF vs Ace winner's league (2set).
+ Show Spoiler +
(P)Anytime vs (Z)HoeJJa on Destination. Anytime started with a normal FE on destination, and Hoejja went (i think) overpool gas. Instead of ling speed, Hoejja went for a burrow rush, and I think zergling speed as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwbd1UD1hbE#t=4m30s
(at 4:30)
Anytime already suspected something, because he had a cannon halfway completed.

Force staff is the best item in the game.

I'm so glad this thread got bumped, i feel like there are some plays that might be getting overlooked. I love "best play" threads :D

+ Show Spoiler [Winners League Wemade vs KHAN 4set] +

After a back and forth game for a while, Stork is able to macro up on 2/3 of the map and constantly recall into Nada's main, eventually killing his last push. His 1st recall was extremely successful because he Stasised his own goon at the ramp of the main to stop Nada's army from entering his main, giving his army time to do much more damage than it would of have otherwise:

Damn I had that very same opening build planned and tested out for the racewars games, though I never got to use it and I was a noob and sent a drone with the lings to let them jump over. It has the advantage that you can mine away freely at the patch as he cant attack it with probes while you have zerglings in his base, but tbh I just for some reason never though it was possible without one. ><

From Ace vs KTF (Reach vs Hoejja, Winners League set 3) February 2, 2009 (I think)
Starts at 18:00.

Reach and his AMAZING mudang storms completely obliterate Hoejja's ling/lurk/hydra army.
Just look at the massive amount of blood left behind after the battle and you can see just how CRAZY Reach's storms went in. I had to watch it 3 times to even see if that whole thing even happened. It was pure.... I'm at a loss for words by this pimp play. (wait that's the word!) It was freakingamazinglyridiculous LIQUID.

Spoilers from SKT vs Khan winner's league match within.
+ Show Spoiler +

February 4th, 2009
Winner's League 2009 - Khan vs SKT T1 game 6
JangBi vs fantasy
Medusa

The score is 3 to 2. Khan is ahead. Best and Bisu had already been eliminated. Fantasy is the last hope for his teammates, and facing Jangbi; one of the six dragons whose strongest matchup is PvT.

The game starts without excitement. Jangbi fast expands before gateway to his mineral only natural, and fantasy puts down a factory, keeping 2 SCV's on gas. Shortly after Jangbi's scouting probe is chased out of his base, he puts down a second factory. The first factory researches spider mines and seige mode.

When fantasy's 2 factory push gets to the front of Jangbi's temples, he lays spider mines to protect his push. Without his robotics facility completed, Jangbi can't risk running forward to snipe tanks. Fantasy takes advantage of this and seiges up to start hammering on Jangbi's temples.

~6:50. Fantasy has a tank and a vulture on the way, and Jangbi has about 6 dragoons

Because of the pylon on top of the temples, Jangbi is aware of this, and he moves 4 goons and a zealot up to intercept. While en route, the tanks finish off the stack of 10 temples, granting fantasy unrestricted access to Jangbi's backdoor.

~7:15. Jangbi has most of his dragoons on the ridge, moving to intercept.

The instant the temples are destroyed, fantasy unseiges, and moves. I drop my jaw in astonishment. Fantasy moved past the ramp! Only pausing to lay 2 mines at the base of the ramp, he moves forward to jangbi's natural with an overwhelming force.

~7:35. Jangbi has 4 dragoons and a zealot on his ridge, valuable seconds away from his vulnerable main

When I saw this, I was stunned, as the full force of his brilliance hit me. He destroyed the temples for the purpose of not using the backdoor. Because Jangbi's dragoons were lured away, Jangbi had chance to stop fantasy's push at a choke point. Jangbi was forced to spend the next four minutes with fully upgraded vultures being rallied to his base.

VOD:

Easily one of the most exciting TvP's I've ever seen, and fantasy's pimp mind fakeout dictated the flow of the game.

lulz :/

[Edit: I'm wrong he isn't misinformed but ill keep my post the same because the heaven game was funny as hell as well ] You're grossly misinformed. It wasn't someone killing their own CC with a v ulture. Elky killed Heaven[30D.O.M]'s cc with 1 vulture. What was especially funny about it is that Heaven was famous for being a 400 + apm terran back when 400 apm was unheard of. You'd think with those 400 apm 2 of them could've been used to select the cc and press L

Basically he was so fast he played like an idiot a lot of the time. People made fun of him so bad for it.

Sorry to say but if you found that "sweet" than you are way too easily impressed. It wouldve ben a bad play to NOT do it. It was completely obvious. Mines are planted by 2 goons and theres a freaking empty shuttle right above them...doesn't exactly take a lot of genius to figure out what you should do.

From CJ vs Hwaseung Winner's league.
+ Show Spoiler +
(T)sKyHigh vs (Z)Jaedong, set 6 on Destination.
SkyHigh proxied a barrack outside JD's main, I think it was an 8rax. It was at the ramped base and SkyHigh lifted it into his main. While making marines, he sent an SCV across the map to JD's natural, and started making a bunker there, forcing JD to pull his drones away from his main. Then he walked up to JD's main mineral line with 3 or 4 marines, while all of JD's drones were at his natural. I'm sad that Jaedong lost, but that was one of the best mind game fakeouts I've ever seen.

This all happened about 20 minutes ago, so there isn't a VOD yet.

Destination

Leta just dominates Luxury with some of the best map I've seen since I started watching pro starcraft. Leta just dominates his opponent start to finish. He started by proxying his engineering bay, forcing luxury's natural hatchery well off-center. Shortly after the proxy factory, leta sent a tank and an SCV over behind Leta's mineral line, and this happened (6:35 in):

At some point leta proxied a second engineering bay, to give him vision of luxury's natural. But the real masterstroke was the tanks with a bunker, a turret, and a supply depot. The amazing part was just how ready Leta was. His seige finished just when the bunker was ready, he had cloak in time for mutalisks, everything was just perfect. If I count right, Leta only lost two units the enire game. Leta's knowledge of his opponent's possibile strategies, and the steps he took to preemptively counter them was beyond pimp. This wasn't so much a pimpest play as it was a pimp bitchslapping his 'ho.

(T)Mind vs (P)YoonJoong
Return of the King
+ Show Spoiler [Description] +
This was the game where Mind did the most brutal TvP contain I've ever seen:

YoonJoong had a good effort here, but he was totally shut down. I don't know if a contain is viable for a Liquid Play, but if it is, then this deserves to get in.

Shinhan Winners League 2009 - KHAN vs SKT T1 game 6
(P)JangBi vs (T)fantasy
Medusa
+ Show Spoiler [Description] +
The score is 3 to 2. Khan is ahead. Best and Bisu had already been eliminated. Fantasy is the last hope for his teammates, and facing Jangbi; one of the six dragons whose strongest matchup is PvT.

When fantasy's 2 factory push gets to the front of Jangbi's temples, he lays spider mines to protect his push. Without his robotics facility completed, Jangbi can't risk running forward to snipe tanks. Fantasy takes advantage of this and seiges up to start hammering on Jangbi's temples.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=facUCsodN0M#t=6m20

Basically, fantasy played really, really smart this game. He could have just pushed forward. Instead, he waited until he'd killed the temples, and gave Jangbi a chance to move his army out of the way. Fantasy didn't forget the details, and laid mines on the ramp, preventing a flank. The course of the game was completely changed, as a player of Jangbi's caliber would have been able to defend the rush with an additional 4 dragoons and a zealot. Fantasy's misdirection here was pimp, and more importantly, smart.

Shinhan Winners League
(T)sKyHigh vs (Z)Jaedong
Destination
+ Show Spoiler [Description] +
You probably already know exactly what this game is, but if you don't, this game is art. Behold:

After avoiding Jaedong's scouting overlord, Skyhigh proxies an 8rax outside Jaedong's main. While lifting it into the Tyrant's main base, he makes a bunker in range of jaedong's natural, in vision range of an overlord. Jaedong has no choice but to respond by pulling drones, while marines were being created in his main. When he had built up to three marines, he moved into Jaedong's base, and started making another bunker, this time in jaedong's main. Because of the lost mining time, Jaedong couldn't make many zerglings, and even more mining time was lost when his drones ran away. Jaedong didn't leave, but the game ended right there. Skyhigh's play here was pimp, no way around it.

(Z)sAviOr vs (T)UpMagiC
Neo Harmony
+ Show Spoiler [Description] +
UpMagic had lost game 1 badly. There was a lot of talk about savior in 2009, and Up had to win. Surprising nobody, Upmagic went for a mech build. He incorporated vulture harass:

Once Upmagic gets going, he does not stop his harass:

  • 7:55 natural
  • 10:20 maynard
  • 10:38 natural
  • 11:00 fourth
  • 11:10 third
  • 11:47 main
  • 12:00 fourth
  • 12:30 natural, main, third all at the same time
  • 13:20 fourth
  • 13:30 main
  • 13:51 maynard
  • 14:05 third
  • 15:27 fourth
  • 16:05 third
  • 16:30 fourth
  • 17:30 nuclear silo under construction...

UpMagic's multitasking here was unbelievable, and his omnipresent vultures were more impressive to me than the Pimpest Play VOD of Boxer's Triple Play.

Much's massive minedrags murder the little monster. Flash gets an early advantage, and sets up a pretty brutal contain on Grandpa Toss. Grandpa does this:

I would never have thought a player like Much could have done something like that against Flash. Just minedrag after minedrag, and oh so many explosions. Amazing--and pimp.

Maybe not all of these are liquid plays, but some of them certainly are. We really should try to keep this thread alive, because SC:L is usually a bit slow on official Pimpest Plays (not their fault though).

Bisu has been relently harassing RorO the entire game, and macroed up his army. He moves to finish RorO. The final battle happens, and Bisu unleashes his insane multitasking ability to beat RorO into a bloody plup. Bisu's army attacks RorO's 3rd base, where he engages both the defenders and RorO's entire army flanking him. Bisu melt's RorO's army with Reavers and Storms. At the same time, Bisu drops 2 zealots at RorO's 4th and kills all the drones there. And at the same time as that, Bisu drops 2 high templar into RorO's main, storms all the drones, and merges the archon. And at the same time, he was trying to expand to a new expo.

So, at more or less the same time, Bisu was doing the following:
Crushing RorO's 3rd base/army (involving Reavers and Storm, while getting flanked)
Zealot dropping RorO's 4th/killing all drones
Storm dropping RorO's main/killing all drones/merging archon
Expanding

that was really cute. at first i was wondering why he didn't move the scvs back to his main, and then i realized that barracks under factory is impassable.

After killing Kal's scouting probe GGPlay morphs a lot of lings and takes 5 drones off minerals to quickly mine the mineral patches blocking Kal's back door. Later Kal atempts the same on GGPlay but fails. Funny nevertheless.

(T)sKyHigh vs (P)Young @ destination shinhan Proleague round 4
+ Show Spoiler +

After fending off the proxy-gate/gas-steal from young, skyhigh pushes out on 2 facts with 10+ marines and a few SCVs and goes to the spot behind young's natural and sets up camp. Young musters up a much larger army and goes in to take it out. The 1st attack is totally ineffective, trading 6+ goons and an ob for 1 SCV and 1 tank. Realizing he is without obs, skyhigh unsieges one of his tanks and draws out the entire 2nd wave of goons with it, running them all into 1 spidermine, killing all of them. Skyhigh permanently shut down young's natural after that and rode the momentum to seal the win.

jaedong vs fantasy

at 16:25 or so when fantasy sends 2 vultures right into jaedong's main, 6 lings pop and the mines blow up like 10 drones.

We are probably all familiar with terrans using vulture mines to mess with a protoss and blow up probes but this is the first time i've seen someone do it to a zerg like this.

No, not the ling trick, HoeJJa did that before. Instead, go to 21:00. It doesn't change the game, but it was the most impressive play of the game for me. Bisu sneaks a shuttle past scourge, then proceeds to drop two zealots and storm a mineral line with a templar you literally cannot see. All without getting caught by the scourge. The shuttle lasts long enough to get off another storm at the next base, too, but the invisi-templar was the highlight of an amazing game.

I don't get that one either. Is a storm more impressive if the templar isn't shown on the screen at the time? It was seen in this case but supposing we didn't see it.
I hope you just didn't pay attention and thought he dropped the templar, stormed, and picked it up so fast that you could not see it.

So he basically flew his shuttle past the scourge hoping that Hoejja would fuck up. Which he did, but can you rely on that? Then he dropped a templar, stormed, dropped 2 zealots while moving by unloading on his shuttle, and then dropped a second templar at the other expansion. I have no idea what's special about that, it seems pretty standard to me. Killing about 6 drones or so.

Yellow vs luxury in hite vs KTF 2009-04-25 in battle royal.
+ Show Spoiler +
For starters, they are identical twins. And its like hteir first match vs each other after luxury left hite and wen't to KTF.
And it was in battle royale which makes an interesting map in zvz since zerglings arent that scary there and you can easily 12hatch to expansion.

They both did the exact same build.

After standard zvz gosuness, it ended up being like 4base vs 4base zerg. The game took almost 30 minutes, which is crazy for a zvz.

I think its the greatest ZvZ ever played, and i hope we will see more stuff like this. And best of all, the one usually considered worse, YELLOW won!

Not sure if this fits because there isn't really many "pimp moments" i think, but overall its a mad game.

Ahh... I gotta totally disagree. It was okay, but nothing exciting. If you like long ZvZs, you can watch any zvz on Desert Fox... It's just the way these maps are built.

Here's one:

The best ZvZ I ever saw was Satanik vs Tot)Xiaozi( ... Or at least, the best example of what a best ZvZ would be. It had all the criteria, but I'm sure similar games with better execution have been found before... Nevertheless, it's much more entertaining than this game.

I don't think it's the first time Great did his sunken colony contain but doing it against a dragon and making him look so helpless during the game sure was something.

I can't figure out how to embed the vod so you'll have to look it up on TLPD...

I would nominate his game vs free instead, it was the 1st time he did it and his defense vs free seemed harder than vs bisu.

Winners League Finals Game 2 (Z)Jaedong vs (T)Iris

+ Show Spoiler +
Jaedong opts for 2-hatch muta all-in vs Iris, going low drone saturation with early 3rd gas and getting a fast +1 air attack while rallying mutas right outside Iris' main. The game is amazing to watch; a muta-harass spectacle. Iris defends very well for most of the game, and it is was one of the most intense moments of all of Winners League. Iris is essentially non-stop making turrets and MnM around his base while slowly teching to vessels due to the non-stop harass. As Jaedong's advantage grows, he at one point amasses 2 groups of mutas at once and goes on an utter rampage, near-flawlessly controlling 2 groups at once (indeed, his control of 2 groups is better than many people's control of 1).

So cool. I just hope that people won't start yelling "INFESTED TERRAN IMBA!" because of this. I personally think players are not accustomed to it yet and that's why they are having a hard time dealing with it.

i don't think the use of infesteds was good.
tbh it was even bad imho.

I think people are just so "hyped up" because its the first time we see this.
But i hope there will be more games on holy world where we see better use of infesteds.
Zero didn't do well. i bet a C player would be able to do the same

hmm i think he used just waypoints for the lings and didn't micro them at all.
and the mutas made 2-3 shots, not more.

sorry i don't want to sound like a total douchebag making this posts bad but i think this is BY FAR not good enough for "liquid plays" or "pimpest plays".
I think stuff like this happens like 60 times in a year

I don't think It's really a liquid play. It's just that he happened to be the first one to get to show the use of infested terrans against p, which I bet all zergs where using in practice. I think great's hatchery contain on medusa is a better example of an innovative strat, though it looks kinda gay instead of awesome.

The infested terran use seemed too gimmicky to be a Liquid Play. The real Liquid Play with infested terran will be when a zerg simul-drops multiple drone lines to devastate.

I actually think Anytime's use of probes was more impressive than his proxy dt. If it wasn't for his probes, he definitely would have lost the game.

I cant remember much about the game, I think it was Tempest vr a Terran and he manner pylon the scouting SCV in behind his mineral line, It is not game changing but as far as I remember pimpest plays arent about moves that make you win but that make you look cool like the Blind Spot of Boxer, he didnt won with that but it was really cool to see it.

Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about.

Flash takes his 3th expansion. Reach goes in to harass. Flash sees it on the minimap as his vultures run barely in sight of the shuttle. He scans his highground once, sees the shuttle. He scan's the highground again while the shuttle has moved closer, giving vision to his two turrets. They take out the shuttle, no harassment done.

its not up yet, but the Flash vs YoongJoon (Shuttle) game 1 on Holy World. shuttle has his ramp blocked with two probes, so flash builds an offensive bunker right outside the ramp, fooling shuttle to bringing his probes off the ramp. flash immediately cancels the bunker and the SCV sails into shuttles base for some scouting!

League Name - OSL Round of 36, Group K
(P)Pure vs (T)Leta
Heartbreak Ridge

+ Show Spoiler +

Action starts 2 minutes into the 30 minute slugfest with Pure going 14 nexus and Leta using a cute supply depot block with bunker rush. Pure does an equally cute pylon block at Leta's choke to stop marine reinforcements, and effectively kills the 2 marine bunker to save his nexus.

The game progresses to a standard macrofest with Leta quickly grabbing a his natural and Pure grabbing his third. Game remains relatively passive with Pure quickly grabbing a fourth and fifth expansion while Leta grabs his third. Pure techs to arbiters while in an unorthodox move, Leta gets a covert ops with his science facility. Protoss then proceeds to start expanding again by taking 11 on Leta's side and the middle for a 6th and 7th expansion; simultaneously, Pure manages to effectively harass with dark templars and a recall that snipes Leta's third expansion.

22:40 into the game, things are looking pretty grim for Leta as his natural and third are mining out and Pure is at almost 7 expansions. Leta needs to secure his 4th and Pure knows he has the economic advantage. Trying to kill Leta's lifeline and vital expansion, Pure engages Leta's 4th at 12 with arbiter/zealot/goon...and Leta turns the tide of the game by locking down 3 arbiters and forcing Pure to retreat. Securing his position, Leta proceeds to wipe out Pure's expansion on his side of the ridge (at 11) and nuke Pure's 5th expansion at the bottom right (with some tricky ghost placement, at that). Down to 5 expansions against Leta's 4, Pure is caught with his pants down as he was in the middle of transitioning to 4 stargate carriers. We suddenly have a game on our hands as Leta is nearing 200/200 3/3 army and Pure hasn't completely got up his carriers yet. Watch the rest of the game to see how tank/goliath/lockdown plays out against upgraded carriers in the rough terrained Heartbreak Ridge.

This game was unique in that Leta planned AND effectively used an obscure unit: the ghost. From the lockdowns to the ghost positioning in his nuke, Leta thoroughly made use of the gas heavy unit. In a matchup that has largely strategically stagnated since Flash's quick upgrade style killed carriers (and resulted in the more preferred quick arbiter style), it's nice to see some unorthodox play. Who knows? We might even see it becoming more standard like we are seeing maelstrom becoming more popular in PvZ.
