I've seen this a couple times..what does it mean?

Splitting workers. I think its by shift+deselecting, but I could be wrong.

I wonder how they came up with cloning..cloning has nothing to do with that :\

I read that out of the latest wgtour dossier.. How could you shift click ghosts to lock down fast? ;_;

boxer could have keyed each ghost on a different number that would be 100x faster than cloning =/

Actually if you watch the replay having created it yourself, you get boxers hotkeys, and yes, he did, 1-7. (referring to the game against Zodiac)

Cloning is only good if the units you are cloning on the enemy units are far enough way to give you time to complete the clone before they engage.

cloning is a way of shift-deselecting stuff. Boxer actually used hotkeys to do that, but like rekrul said, if you are far enough away, you could clone. You would start by selecting all 7 ghosts and having them lockdown one battlecruiser, then deselect one and lockdown another battlecruiser, then delselect antoher and lockdown a different battlecruiser, until all the ghosts are targetting a different battle cruiser. Then, by the time they get into range, the 7 ghosts will lockdown the 7 different battlecrusier.

cloning is also known as "rince and repeat"
since u use command,deselect a unit,and do it all over again

P.S. boxer hotkeys his ghost 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 , go dl boxer vs zodiac replay for an example

also used in muta battles when attacking with scourge, mass queens broodlinging tanks, spreading storms as you enter a battle splitting units up as they are moving, sending miners to mine etc...

Boxer has the ability to hotkey each Ghost individually and Lockdown on the spot, but most other players will never become anywhere near that fast. Cloning will allow you to cast multiple spells quickly if your targets are in range without insane spontaneous clicking.

This is the only thing I've ever used "cloning" for. A long time ago I thought I invented it.

Heh...i think the best cloning is a perfect blind clone...i copied this from boxer but it feels really good when you go 2 port wraith and blind and never lose 1 unit in tvz
