Is there a Chaoslauncher plugin that will allow me to use add a modded MPQ? I've been using Chaoslauncher for bwapi injection + MPQDraft... a two step process, but I'd prefer to make it a one step process and just use Chaoslauncher without MPQDraft

Dear MasterOfChaos,

Your windowed-mode appears to be the only solution to keeping SC:BW from crashing in Windows 7. (just search for "crash" "starcraft" "windows 7" and you'll see all the discussion) Do you think you can make time to create a full-screen version of windowed-mode? Maybe something that changes the screen resolution to 640x480 and runs the game in a safe 'window' (yeah, sounds kinda backwards). It's kinda crazy, but your efforts will keep SC:BW from disappearing from many people's computers as they buy new ones w/ Windows 7. Thank you for all your work -- if windows mode wasn't programmed by you, plz pass this message onto the original coder.

I tried downloading the launcher directly and copying the files from them, the problem persists and while this error happens mainly when i close the launcher it has cause SC to crash in-game more than once.

is anybody else experiencing the same issue?

^ i get that error when i exit bw too, but it's when i exit bw. i don't have any trouble in-game though, so i just ignore it

There is other solution: with vmware 7 (virtual computer) with winxp guest OS u can run starcraft without problems, anyway a fullscreen "window-mode" would be better.

I use VMware with windows XP to play BW because I have windows 7 and i get the crashes, but the mouse input lags, BW doesn't run in fullscreen like it did when I had vista(which I'm used to now. it's weird as hell playing 640x480 maximized), and it's just a pain to have to boot up VMware and set it all up on a VM, so I just wanted to add a +1 to slimdagger's post. I know MoC isn't obligated to do these kind of things, but I just thought I'd share my thoughts. I was planning on going 50/50 with BW and SC2, but with the hassle I've got now I find myself starting to stop playing BW =/

Im actually expecting a lot of in-game crashes... is anybody having that issue as well??, I tried re-installing starcraft and everything, nothing seems to be helping.

I would love a "'Stretch to Fullscreen' Window Mode" as well :D

All the download links aren't working. Are they just old (if they are can I get another link please? :D) or is the site just down and I need to wait? (That, and other sites I saw for downloads had comments saying that it was a Virus instead, so I trust TL.net best.)

Re VMware and mouse lag -- the current version of VirtualBox (3.2.8) has the option to emulate a USB tablet (absolute pointing device) instead of a mouse (emulates mouse movements), and it's a lot easier to be accurate with that. If you are running XP in a VM I'd recommend giving it a try.

Funny thing, this is the first time I've heard of BW crashing in Windows 7.... I knew about the color glitches but I'd never heard of it crashing. I take it this is a widespread thing? Are you guys all using the same video card or something? I've been running 7 for months and months now and don't even have to disable Aero to play :/

it doesnt really crash, its just literally everything freezes except audio. any music playing will continue playing, but thats it. the time you can play before it freezes varies, right now i can make about 20 minutes, but thats pretty much it

Hi,

When I use add and use an external tool, the window mode does not seem to activate (don't think any of the plugins activate). is it possible to add an option to the tools that we can select to run the new tool AND the other stuff.

I don't know what you're expecting. The external tool feature just adds context menu entries to run that tool. Which is a rather useless feature since it's not much different from the windows start menu.

I am having trouble with ChaosLauncher 1.16.1. (Or the latest version.) When I boot up my LiveStream Procaster, then go open up Starcraft with CL, and I get RT Error, and an error with my W-Mode file (I don't remember what it says. something like Autoupdate or something liek that.. I already updated everything.)
I've tried everything I can think of (Firewall, unchecking other apps.), yet I still get this constant error. I'm running Windows 7 Starter OS, and I need this to cast my SC games with my audio... HALP pleez?

Edit: Tried a new method to booting it, and got exact same Error, but copied it down this time.

@HeroX , for the longest time I had no idea why my chaos launcher would not work, and then I discovered I have to right click -> Run as Administrator ( Every single time) I start chaos launcher, why? I think it's because i'm on vista, even though it might not work for you, it's worth a shot.
