![]() i think the original Blade Runner took place in 2019. I wonder why so many "near future" type universes decided upon 2019?

Presumably that's actually 0xFFFFFFFF using American date formatting combined with a timezone that's west of UTC-7.

IT personnel propagandize these types of issues to increase their perceived competence while lazing around behind a help desk. Blizzard botched something basic. Amongst software engineers and computer scientists database programming is considered easier than stuff like AI programming, real time programming and actuarial valuation tool programming. That's just off the top of my head. I can prolly name another 50. Again , Blizzard botched something basic. Please, do not let them off the hook by claiming this stuff is difficult. This is another L for the 'Games As A Service' paradigm. Nothing beats local/couch competitive game play.

Dates are something people assume are trivial and are occasionally a pain in the arse. Tricky/finnicky, not tremendously difficult no, they’re different things. Nobody is going ‘aw give the intern a break, dates are really hard!’ or whatever.

There are all kinds of new RTS games coming. I'm sure the makers of these games will benefit from stuff like this.

These things crop up all the time, and this would be a very low priority issue for any developer as it doesn't affect gameplay.

Blizzard is screwing up, a lot. Blizzard deserves credit for being transparent about how little resources are on the game though.
