"- 4x 1v1, 1x 2v2 - one player can play one time 1v1 and two times 2v2 (if didn’t play 1v1)" is it a typo? there is only one 2v2? Or do you mean to say that you cannot play again week 2 if you played week 1 (for example) ? | ||

The map pool has been updated, as I got feedback from the captains. You can check it out here: Bombastic StarLeague/Nation Wars (first 3 weeks are correct)Also when I drawed the maps for each round I used the rule "no monty hall and sparkle at the same round". I'd think that, say, if you were able to hit A rank on ladder at least once, you'll be very likely to not like these maps... not trying to be elitist or anything, I don't see any other option. If you fit this criteria (positive about the maps, hit A rank at least once), please explain your reasoning. | ||

I think you hit A rank on ladder at least once. Please, why you hate or don't like this map pool and/or also liked the map candidates from the SSL map pool? I am D rank from more 1.000 games at this season now (I always take B rank at all seasons, no except this one). So I can't explain for you. But I am really sure you don't understand some words: watch, enjoy, play, interesting, surprising, hoping and amazing! | ||

No map pool has ever got in the way of me getting there. I usually end up disliking 1-2 maps for a particular match up that might lead me to ban them. Even if i don't ban them i'd still get there comfortably. On the other hand, lack of activity, games and motivation is when i end up playing a few games and stay at B rank. That is why i find it hard to believe a map pool can be all bad, but to each their own. | ||

I'll try to answer in good faith. This game is played for over 20 years which is quite marvelous in itself. Just as marvelous is the fact, that some sort of balance between the races exists. This is in parts due to great game design, but not only. Over the course of 20 years, we learned a LOT about how the game can be played and how matchups can be balanced with specific features of the maps that we use. Think about how the amount of available resources is fixed. Why don't we see maps with BGH-like economy? Why don't we have 3 gas in the main? Somehow, we figured out that 9+/-1 patches per base works pretty well. By now, we know that big deviations from this will result in games where one race will be inherently advantaged over another. The same is true for a lot of recurring features of modern maps. They are recurring because we identified them as necessary or useful for the possibilty of a balanced and dynamic game. My main point is: by using maps that liberally disregard the recurring features of modern macro maps, we end up with games and tournament results which are largely determined not by player skill, but by maps. But I am really sure you don't understand some words: watch, enjoy, play, interesting, surprising, hoping and amazing! I very much do and I hope for the resulting games to be exactly these things. Its just that the context from which we evaluate these things is so different.
