Of course it is his prerogative to do as he pleases with the events he's funding. IF indeed nobody is getting convinced there is little point in arguing. We can agree to disagree on where the line should be. I wouldn't dare go against Brain as a "Dumb lizard" which he so eloquent put as his first response here. Jealous however has stepped up to the challenge and it may be interesting to see the back and forth if anything new would be said or achieved by this, which would mainly be this not happening in the future I guess. I think for future refence no matter who the person is, or how much or little their contribution to an event is people would have questions about unresolved matters. So either address it prior the event (in the event thread) or as in this case after. So everyone knows what they are in for. Somehow 99.9999% of people in the community have figured out how not to be involved in such controversy. This leads me to believe it can't be that hard. ^_._^ | ||

And from reading the posts from that other forum, it seems they actually want Rapid to cast, because it pisses off the western viewers. Like some war on western standards or something. | ||

One is the natural consequence of the other. It is very clear where everyone basically lies on the topic and actions will be taken accordingly if there is a next time. TMNT's post is on point except part c) because they did come and troll but also complain we were destroying BSL. Cant have it both ways, get Rapid to your event and be boycotted. At least I appreciate RusBrain s straightforwardness in this after the initial low effort posts, so props to him even if we clearly are on different sides of the issue it is still to be lauded. | ||

We have the right to point out how dumbass it is to do something like that and not watch/support his tournaments and events. Dead forum btw but you're still on here posting. Wouldn’t call it dead though, sure there are periods of low activity, but when something big happens (Like Rapid casting) the activity is high. On the topic, I guess what I want to say is, at this point all "diplomatic" talks are just futile. He doesn't give a shit and will do what he likes to. You either boycott events associated with him (if any) or just move on. Most of the players will probably just pretend they know nothing. | ||

in addition, if you as an organizer decide to include in your event a k nown sexual harasser, abuser or offender, you are by extension also responsible for any action that person undertakes at your event. If he sexually harasses or abuses anyone at YOUR event then YOU as the host are also at fault. DO NOT take that risk of ENABLING a potential sex offender, harasser or abuser by knowingly placing them in an environment where there are potential victims to prey on. Anyone who you invited to BSL LAN and their families could have been harassed or worse by Rapid at that event. If that had happened Rus_Brain would have been responsible because he invited Rapid. Does Rapid deserve another chance? maybe someday, but that time was not at BSL. Not now and not anytime soon. Not until he has gone through all the steps of proving to the entire community he betrayed that he is a changed person who has gone through all the pubishment for all his actions. also dont forget his starcraft caster career was his second chance after he fled the league community. He commited he same acts after getting that second chance. The chances are high he will do the exact same thing again on his third chance and fourth chance. another issue. Because Rus_Brain has shown to lack the proper judgement not to invite a sex harasser/offender, can the community trust him with future event invites? The chance exists he will invite someone else who is banned from the community to a future event. Or maybe someone with a violent history? This whole debacle raises the question: can we trust Rus_Brain not to invite people who have a bad history? | ||

You can see him casting here: It's not okay to have him involved in any community event, and whether or not you "put him in front of the camera" doesn't change that. He shouldn't be there, period. I don't give a fuck if he brings 30 progamers with him, none of that is worth the shit that he put other people through. | ||

My opinion on this matter has been well known, and those that do not know it can find it in the posts in this and the other topics. Regardless of it, Rus_brain is trying to reach out and speak to the community. This is something that we should congratulate him for and respect the act of doing so. After all the biggest issue I have with rapid is that he has refused to ever acknowledge his actions or talk about them. I do believe we all have our reservations and have made our minds on how Rus feels about this situation after his many posts or his "dumb lizzard  " responses. Still, he is trying taking a step in the right direction and it is pointless to attack him for it.I believe, we can all agree that discussions on this will be fruitless, until Rapid addresses the issue in some public form and opens it for discussion. Well done to Rus for doing what he is doing, but discussions would be pointless right now. if he feels he needs a clarification before accepting this he can ask freely for details over particular points he finds confusing. Jealous can translate and communicate back to him whatever necessary. Finally, if Rus thinks he has new information to bring to the table, let us ask him to do so transparently. That is all, peace to all and let us present ourselves as a community of grown-ups and not let trolls or emotions get the best of us for either side of this argument. | ||
