Yeah military service, then he came back before ASL14 but couldn't qualify (because of luck and form, rather than skill, because at that point he was already on par with the K-League players).
This season he's just more solid. Just beat Bisu on yesterday's proleague, so Best better watch out.

Ro24 in a week is great, it's the one part of the tournament that can drag a bit. Maybe I've misunderstood your question, but he's literally in the Ro24 of the highest level tournament right now. So, ehm, he seems to be doing fine?

Being in K or Major league is not necessarily about skill level but about how much funding someone on is able to contribute from Balloons on average. Being in or not in is is no indicator of someone being in a good or bad form. Ruin was on a break from December until the Qualifiers. He's was in K-league quite often before that and your comment about him just ruining some chinese players' games is honestly a bit disrespectful.

Didn't know about proleague. Sounds like a lot of games in missing.

More often than not Major league has the better players, it would be silly to deny that. The be the best one needs to practice and fight with the best.
Ruin is the obvious tier 4 of his group whether you like it or not and the remark I made is a play on his name and his latest results on his LP. There is nothing disrespectful about it unless you're a snowflake.

You can also find it in the left side bar under Tourneys: [Megathread] Daily Proleagues
You will have to scroll through the thread. Every post starts with the VOD and the matches will be listed below, with following matches and also results inside spoilers which you can click to view.
Scroll the VOD with that info to find the Stork games.

To follow up the post above:
You dont need to scroll through though. The #1 post in the megathread has the index and you just need to Ctrl+F and type "Stork" to find the days he played and click on the link.
Keep in mind that not all K-League entries are updated there.

So, ehm, he seems to be doing fine? Belatedly: this is the first I've seen of him in like three years. I know he's looking good now, I'm just wondering where he's been, since he was out of things for longer than military would account for.

Ugh I don’t want to be the old man yelling at clouds but they need a better system for group selection. Having Best, Snow, SK and Light in the same group is bogus. It weakens the competition for the ro8 onwards imo.
|
Royal able to pick an easy group for him (only TvZ - his best match-up) and put the 3 players who are most likely to beat him in another group (Soulkey, Snow, Light), not to mention the other 2 (Mini, Soma) was out already. Perfect scenario for the current champion to retain his title.
|
They should reseed the players for ro16.
Tier 1: top four seeds from last year Tiers 2-4: they can use same seeding method as they do for ro24 which seemed pretty accurate.
Then a draft where Royal has first pick of player from each tier for his group (his advantage as the number 1 seed). 2 seed then picks, 3 seed etc.
Tiers would be something like 1: Royal, rush, Hero, Sk 2: Light, Bisu, Snow, Queen 3: Mind, JD, Action, Best 4: Shine, JYJ, Ssak, Barracks
Hypothetically, Royal picks Queen, JD, Shine for group A Rush picks Bisu, Mind and Barracks for group B Hero chooses Snow, Best, Ssak SK is left with Light, Action, JYJ.
I think this gives us groups that are just as juicy but with a better distribution of talent for the ro8 onwards.
For example, if games went to seeding you’d have an ro8 with Royal, Queen, Rush, Bisu, Hero, Snow, Sk and Light which would be awesome.

I agree that the current system gives too much power into the hands of the no.1 seed. Usually he'd be able to create an easy group for himself without even using the switching right, then he'd use that right to make a group of death for the players who are most likely to beat him.
This is the exact situation today, and last season as well. The season where Mini picked Light and used his right to help Shuttle was a rare case (and that was one of the best group nomination events)
However, if the system you proposed above were used, there would be no need for a nomination event anymore, because all the picks become too obvious that the players just need to inform ASL via a message and that's it. With group nomination, there is also entertainment value with all the banters, mind games etc. Having all the players there and talk to each other is fun as hell and gets the audience to know their personality too. I'd say that is worth more than avoiding some lopsided groups.
