Hello TL! For some mysterious reason I created a campaign-like, extremely high difficulty, 3 player co-op scenario. It plays like a normal game of starcraft, with various events and map editor shenannigans meant to enhance the difficulty in a natural feeling way that simultaneously feels unfair without breaking too many of the rules of normal gameplay. =)

I played this with just 1 other, and found it was far too difficult to realistically beat. But I enjoyed the challenge.

I played this with a friend. First attempt was supposed to be to just check what we are getting into, unfortunately we won quite easily.
Fun map? Maybe.
Extremely high difficulty? Well, that was a clickbait.

Seriously though, i did the difficulty balance with a bit of help from some higher level starcraft 2 players, but I myself am a high level player in neither game so once the map was a certain level beyond my own skill I had to guess a bit at whether or not the map was still literally beatable.

I will gladly review your replay though and see if I can make any reasonable enhancements!

Can i suggest you make it so any amount of players work?

If i play alone it shouldnt be impossible that is. I reviewed your triggers in editor and i see you have good knowledge of switches to make it work.

I could probably fool some friend to play it but not 2

But from I and bonyth observed it switches to 2-player mode at the start. Unless its only a text message. Anyway - u can beat it with 2 players.

It does detect the number of players in the game and runs a different AI script for your CPU ally based on that.

If you are playing by yourself it runs the campaign insane ai, 2 players the normal custom map ai, and 3 players it uses a campaign ai that is weaker than normal. Furthermore, there is one event regarding the large bridge that does not play in single player mode which is also to the players advantage.

Now, if you are here to say that it isn't quite enough when playing solo, that's pretty fair. I am still thinking about ways I can improve the flexibility of the map. Maybe I should let you pick another race to get some workers from to help equalize the supply counts a bit, or I could tinker with the ally CPU a bit harder for single player mode?

I mean, if this is going to be scaled in difficulty so that Bonyth finds it extremely challenging, that speaks for itself lol

While I respect Bonyth's opinion, I do not agree with him. I played this 10+ times with my friend and we are unable to beat it. Too many nukes/general unit attacks for us.

Well Bonyth is 2500+ MMR, has beaten ASL players on ladder and Wolfix is S rank, they play 2v2 together.

This map isn't made for them, except a final toughest difficulty if OP wants to go for that.

What's your mmr btw? Could perhaps help the mapmaker to set difficulty levels.

I'll give this a try, represent us players stuck around 1500 mmr-land.

I will definitely check it out and have some of the CPL players try it! Give you a good round idea for difficulty!
