I think ASL season 5
The first, ASL 5 has best maps: Sparkle, Transistor, Gladiator, Third World.
Sparkle gave to us some new strategies, more than only cheese and marco by non-island maps. Players can't lose their games before 10 minutes. It's so terrible when you have to go out in few minutes but you had tried to pratice so much hours.
Transistor was new idea with 4 paths which can come main base and 2nd base. Player have to play safely and guess purpose of his opponent.
Gladiator was a marco map. Look like Fighting Spirit 1.3, Circuit Breaker 1.0, Polypoid... but it's so beautiful and low ground (favor Protoss, Zerg).
Third World was a semi island. I like idea of it, 5 bases for 2 players for early game and 7 others for mid/late game.
The second, some best matchup was made by best maps.
Hero vs Mind, Hero won Third World and Sparkle. Both maps seem Zerg can't win in the ZvT. Island and semi island so bad for Zerg but Hero still done it.
Flash vs Snow, this was end 10 years unbeaten of Flash in his TvP, (best of five).
Hero vs Mini, this match proved you can win some games from maps but you can not win in the best of five if you have no ability.
The third, final was PvP. That mean, this season is the most fair and balance for all. Protoss can come to the final, any race even can too.

For me season 8 was the best. It was mind boggling how strong flash was that season and how easily he disposed his protoss opponents. Season 5 was way too rigged for me to truly enjoy. While having island maps was interesting at first the games on them were kinda rubbish if I'm honest.

S5 was my favorite too. And while zergs do struggle on islands, they're fine on sparkle.

This is it for me. EffOrt vs FlaSh has probably been the only actually good finals of all the ASLs so far. 9 was a great tournament until the awful finals lol.

asl season 2 - the crowd for the flash vs jaedong semi-final was bigger than any other non-final crowd i've seen during the kespa era except for maybe flash vs fantasy tving semi-finals - i was there in person and it was literally the only time they removed all the seating at yongsan ipark mall and made everyone stand/sit to watch.

The season with flash vs effort had been my favorite, epic games

All the seasons have honestly been so much fun since each season has been unique. It's hard to say but ASL6 and some of the preceding ASLs will always have a special place in my heart. Flash building up hype by winning ASL 2/3/4 back to back to then lose a really close series in ASL5 before coming back with a roar in ASL6 off the back of a renewed meta to lose in another close series in the finals. That whole period of new metagame and lots of hype was just great.
If I had to say what was special for each ASL:
ASL1: shuttle beating everyone and last beating flash. He crushed Sharp in the finals.
ASL2: flash is back again, FvJ, lots of hype, Sea destroying Bisu then Best, great TvT finals
ASL3: flash continues his dominance, shine's bag of tricks, camelot map too and the whole mech meta
ASL4: flash dominates even more, Larva has his breakout at last and shows great ZvP again, gold rush, interesting finals
ASL5: wacky maps, even saw corsair/carrier vs corsair carrier on Sparkle, Snow finally beats Flash in a TvP BO and we get first PvP finals
ASL6: 1-1-1, autobahn, last rising again, great last vs sharp TvT, flash vs effort final with 10 years of hype!
ASL7: last finally wins an ASL, last vs rain was fantastic
ASL8: flash finally grabs his fourth win after lots of denials
ASL9: wacky maps, great quarterfinals, flash almost loses to Action, gets beaten in TvZ by ZerO, a new zerg champ! Fun games and of course, hitchhiker!!!!!
ASL10: Soma's breakout, flash random, repeat zerg champ!
ASL11: both larva and mini elevate again, fantastic finals!

Nothing will ever beat that Jaedong Flash Semifinals and the level of energy that day had
Rain winning ASL too was amazing for me as a huge fan of Rain

ASL Season 9 was hands down the best season overall imo. Pretty much every day had some great series except for the first few ro24 matches and the Finals.

Really hard to pick, I liked all of them. S3 was so good when Shine showed his bag of builds, FlaSh showed who is best terran by beating Last same fashion 3-0, Bisu ballin deep, clearing mines vs. sSak without obs. I have good memories from S4 which was first for Remastered, that Rain vs. Larva ro8 series. especially on Skull Desert. S7 has the best semis in history of ASL I think, those mindgames were insane. S5 was really,really exciting not gonna lie, that FlaSh vs. SnOw ro8 was unforgettable. S9 was also never disappointed, top notch tournament from start to end, if not count finals.

It has to be either season 2 or 6 for me. I remember everyone collectively losing their minds when EffOrt pulled off the burrow strat on Neo Sylphid against Light, added even more hype to the Korean Air OSL rematch.

You mean last, but yes, that mole strat was great. He did it in the last game in the series too. Poor Last couldn't keep up with the constant ling prods in his main/nat.

Season 1 Shuttle's run was a beautiful end to an era. He carried over his strengths from the Sonic Era and won brilliantly right before he went off to the military. Imo, the best season.

Shuttle went to military right after season 6 though (He got 4th there so still a nice run)

Effort vs terrans in ASL6 definitively stands out as a tournament with big "wow" moments.

ASL 2 all the way!
Lots of great games, the return of Jaedong, Bisu, Stork and many more, my boy Best playing really well, really good matchups(Flash vs Jaedong, Best vs Sea, effort vs Rain), also tournaments just feel more fun when there is lots of people being present there.

ASL5 was the worst imo, the maps are so bad it's impossible for the terrans, not even Flash could do a shit.
ASL6 was the best though, Effort vs Flash finals was the most exciting ever
