They'll move back to an older patch unless their one employee has the rona but I like what Bluestar said. Blizzard leaving SC:R alone can be a blessing in disguise if the community joins forces, moves back to the abyss or something new. Third party programmers unite! Imagine the things we could do if we didn't spend our time complaining about Activision, instead took action. We need admins, shitlords and coders. ICCUP still has a infrastructure to build it from. Anyone reading Ygosu or such? Is there talk about saving broodwar? Getting Fish back up? This. bnet has always been crappy. fish > bnet game-i > bnet neo game-i > bnet wgtour > bnet pgtour > bnet iccup > bnet shield battery > bnet brain clan > bnet + Show Spoiler + fuck, im old...

Existing private server solutions (iccup, shield battery, fish, brain) won't work and will require more resources to work with RM. Reason we had a few servers working simultaneously was because hosting a private server took almost no traffic.

Reason we had a few servers working simultaneously was because hosting a private server took almost no traffic. Blizzard's system only switches off P2P if a P2P connection is impossible (e.g. because no ports are forwarded and the NAT on both sides is antagonistic to automatically finding a mutual port). While you are correct that existing private servers largely won't work with Remastered, it's more because most of them were based around Battle.net protocol emulation (PVPGN), and the game no longer uses that protocol at all. ShieldBattery was always a complete replacement for the server protocol, and our games were always done via proxies (not direct P2P). The only prohibitive part of Remastered for that approach is the modern anti-debugging stuff they added, not network traffic. Forwarding game traffic is not particularly intensive in this day and age (we're talking about like <10MB of traffic for the whole game).

A shame I finished school when round here all this came down to "some weirdos with the odd teacher in the room with the PC"... It had quite some use then already, now it also has the cool...

So you still might wanna do some port forwarding even tho blizzard "fixed" the problem.

HOWEVER I believe it's a good thing to have a discussion on the future of StarCraft. If you'd like to chime in with expertise or suggestions, please feel free to hop in the B.net forums: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/starcraft/t/give-power-to-the-community/1941

Changed to my random account at 1600, no problems. Changed back. No problems. It seems to be fixed. Korea from cali is tr16 or 20. Peru is 12-14. Europe is 12-16 Things seem normal to me now. Except random ladder pairings falling apart. Oh one thing, my acounts were showing ratings from last season. My hehehekeke account is unranked but it says 1750 but that doesnt matter.

List of current issues I've seen (maybe someone can compile a list into the OP) 1) a lot of frozen / stale game lobbies 2) can't view profiles at all 3) can't see some game lobbies (seems to be dependent on host or players in the game?) 4) Ladder finds match and fails to start 2-3 times per search No in-game issues though. And Ladder otherwise still finds a match within ~1 min
