[QUESTION] About ports in SC:RM

OK what is know is this, you need to have the PORTS 6112 & 6114 open, i am talking to my ISP. This is the list of everything you need to have open:

As i was saying, i am in the phone with my ISP told them that i will call them latter. i payed around 15 dolars to open ports 6112 & 6114, and they told me they are "open" but when i use this website:

http://xpeh.harpywar.com/starcraft_port.php

it tells me they are "closed", so my question is this.

I have a static IP, meaning that my ISP "rotates" Static ips for me from time to time from a "POOL" of static Ip`s.

1. Shouldnt they open the port for me in every single one of their Static IPS? so i can play remastered without proxy?.

2. I am able to create games in 1.16, so that means i have the ports opened? but then, why that website tells me i have the ports "closed".

3. How can i check how my ISP is doing my PORT work? are they "forwarding my ports"?.

4. How do having the ports "open" make a P2P network work better?

Please i need someone smart to answer me, i do have the passwoord for the ISP router they game me, and i checked inside and indeed the ports 6112 & 144 are opened inside the ISP router... but even if deleted those rules i can create game sin 1.16... so that adds to the confusion. I need to clarify how this works.

Those port checker websites are useless. They're always wrong.

Download 1.16.1 from Iccup's website and test if people can join your games in Iccup. It's the only way to be sure. SCR changed the way games are hosted where it first checks if port 6112 UDP is open, if not, it creates the game anyway through one of Blizzard's proxy servers (which is almost always slower/laggier than a UDP host).

Exactly !! i can host games in 1.16... but those websites tell me i am "CLOSED" so you are telling me that my port is open?, or are they also "forwarding" my port, because i have never had a Static Ip in my life... i am very curious if it really makes hte game more "fast" thats all im trying to understand.

Obviuslly i understand that in Remastered if you oponent does not have the port opened then it will proxy anyways.

You paid to have your ports opened?

Generally, someone correct me if I am wrong, ports are always open from the ISP. They don't have any reason to block ports to your personal connection.

Port forwarding is done by yourself through a) your software firewall within windows if you use one (ie windows firewall) and b) your router/modem if it has a firewall built into it

If you can host games on 1.16 (iccup I presume?) and people can join that means that your ports are most likely open.

I will add that in starcraft remastered it is no longer necessary to forward ports. If you aren't experiencing any problems which it sounds like you are not then I wouldn't worry about it.

If people can join your games in 1.16.1 then your UDP port 6112 is open. If it's closed then no one can join.

In SCR if you are hosting a game with more than two players, never set the game to more than turn rate 8 or it will almost always lag.
