I for one have stopped purchasing new blizzard titles - but that was a long time ago.... Activision to clear up. That happenend in the end of 2007 after the release from WoW:Burning Crusade and before WoW:Wrath of the Lich King. So pretty much since than the quality took a nose dive, from the hardcore gamer perspective. See Diablo 3, see Hots (a super soft MOBA), see Hearthstone (soft MtG), see WoW Add-ons (thats at least what vanilla hardcore player say). Cant say anything about Overwatch, never played it. But I think GGG with PoE clearly showed that there is a place for games made for hardcore gamers that can make good money. Its obvious that Activision wants to make profit for their purchase. I mean in W3 you focus on relatively few elements and try to master them. SC is just a war all over the place - the more agile player usually wins.
Lets say then W3 is more like boxing, and SC is MMA :d

What the fuck is wrong with you guys, he was the one who said: "EVERYTHING BLIZZARD DID IN THE PAST WAS HARDCORE COOL! EVERYTHING AFTER VANILLLA SUCKED ASS!" Why the fuck was WoW vanilla a super casual version of Everquest and DAoC with quests, no death xp penalties and what not? Wasnt EVERYTHING blizzard did in the past HARDCORE? He has to explain his bullshit, not me. He posted copy/paste opinions, not me. I didnt make claims

BW is more like original trilogy, while SC2 is like the prequel and WC3 the sequel

these analogies are losing me. where did it start, where will it end

Brood War is like gorgonzola, sc2 is like parmesan and wc3 like gouda
|
Broodwar is the matrix, while SC2 is matrix reloaded

hi friends, pls stop these analogies.

BW is all these folks coming up with BW analogies, while SC2 is BLinD-RawR /banter

Brood War is like a gentle breeze that carries the warmth of the morning sun to your porch as you rock in your chair looking out to the horizon.
Warcraft 3 is like the octopus you got in your Sushi combo that you eat anyways to show that you are not a coward.
Starcraft 2 is like that feeling when you watch Caitlyn Jenner walk in heals but force yourself not to be internally negative because... ya know, yeah...

WCG 2018 reborn today, but SCR is not official event.
WCG consider it, but they didnt decide yet.
|
I hope they consider it and decide on it being a official event!!! Would be like old times.
|
Oh god, my life would be complete if we got to see Starcraft at the WCGs again. Hopefully Blizzard will not impede this possibility.
I have very fond memories of watching Boxer versus Blackman on Lost Temple. That was the first time I saw the Terran Emperor in action. The Dropship flying toward the Zerg main, the Marine micro versus those Lurkers... It is something I will never forget.

I dug around liquidpedia quickly and found out that the ASL4 prize pool was considerably larger than the GLS ones, 3 times larger than the last GSL in fact.
I hope BW survives and thrives, I am advertising it everywhere I can, it is so exciting to watch, comparable to anything we humans have come up with in terms of spectator sports Id say.
Give us BW ASL and WSG!!!
Also first time poster +3 3 lurker here, hi guys.

Really?! ASL4 prize pool is 100M KRW, and last GSL prize pool is 170M KRW.

yeah my bad I looked at 2017 AfreecaTV GSL Super Tournament 2
2017 AfreecaTV GSL Super Tournament 2
This one is indeed 170M KRW
2017 Global StarCraft II League Season 3
Still not bad considering ASL4 prize money 4 times larger than ASL1 and doubled since ASL3.
