- The Tour will be announced via SC Calendar via iCCup server and via TeamLiquid in time.
- The kind of Tours (opened to all, restricted by rank, restricted by real skills) will be explicitly written in the Tour Page.
example of non-allowed accounts restrictions for low skilled tours: (applied to all the accounts of the player signed) — no previous season records (new accounts) — previous seasons recorded with less than 20 games — previous season records 1v1 over C- ( > 3999) — previous season records 2v2 over B- ( > 6999)
- SC Points Feature
The "buy ladder points" feature exists, but it's not only limited to A- like some of you think, it's also limited at top200 which means you can't buy any rank over top200 (it was around C at the end of last season, actually is D+ 2951) *will be edited to top100 soon limiting the access to C/C+ in any case (it's less during the season)
It's good for high skilled players who want to save time and jump the low lvl boring games. remember the max rank you will get is #101 so it's not something makes laddering insignificant.
- Special icon feature
Exists, but it's not directly managed by Starcraft Administrators and unluckily iCCup developers are not supporting us very well. We were ready to allow users to buy icons for cash giving 50% to ICCUP and to keep 50% for BW events, but we had to give up not having the right support (the main problem is to add custom icons shortly)
If there are ppl interested we can make a similar feature directly managed by Starcraft Head Administrators allowing you to buy non-customized icons (100% of the moneys will be used for BW events). + Show Spoiler [SPECIAL ICONS AVAILABLE] +
Players who hit A- 1v1 and/or A+ 2v2 have the rights to ask for permanent special icon.
ZancCo ok ok this is a good idea but i dont have credit card to donate via paypal , i can do it via bank account , any have a bank account for iccup in peru¿ ZancCo I'm sure you can link your bank count to your PayPal account. What about a test Tour (opened to all) registration fee 1$ Sunday? Now it seems like your fishing for $. Why not as a test tournament, ask the owners of iccup that focus so much on dota, to host a 1 thousand dollar tournament with all the money they are making from dota. Your sources being which? ICCup doesn't really generate profit, neither for DotA, nor for any other title they feature. If you honestly assume that your assumption is true, then why doesn't TL throw a $1k BW tournament off their own money, why did other related portals like WGTour not spend their "profit" on giving it back to the scene? Are you seriously comparing Team Liquid to a organization like iccup? TL has so done much more for the scene worth waaay more than a 1k tourney, And i don't remember that team liquid ever asking money from the community to fund their tournaments and then keep a 10% for themselves. Iccup has no obligation to follow anyone else's format. Complaing about this is just ridiculous. Iccup has determined this is their best solution to keep foreign BW active on there servers. Regardless of whether it is successful or not, at least they are offering a service. You, as a player and thinking human being, can use your decision making part of the brain and decide if this is something you want to take part in. Trolling and arguing does nothing but trash this TL thread. Are you intentionally hurting TL and their outstanding staff members? I'm not trolling or arguing with anybody, All i'm saying it's distasteful for iccup to take 10% from the prize pool. Specially when they do so much for other games and so little for bw.
What's wrong with keeping 10% if the money is used for free to enter tournaments? And ICCup DotA is not the same organisation as ICCup Brood War.

There's a lot to the page you don't see. Radio, WoW, just two random examples.

There are more people playing DotA than Brood War on ICCup. I played it there for a while and got to C-, but the community was rather terrible. It was a bunch of raging kids, half of which refused to speak anything but russian, unless it was to flame.

Is there a reason why there's no more brood war tab anymore? I came across this page by accident
http://iccup.com/en/starcraft/sc_start.html
I think there's going to be a brood war revival... It's a timeless game. Maybe not as big as Korea, but it can happen.
|
I also hope for the revival of Warcraft 2, it was a very good game.
Yeah! Let's blame the iCCup BW administration for not being able to fund a $1,000 tournament by forcing iCCup DotA to give money for no particular reason other than because they asked.
shenlong, provide us with a $1,000 tournament since it is very simple to host a tournament with that much money on the line. Or why not try applying to be an admin, climb up the ranks, and get the job done yourself? Much complain, so doge.

I think you misunderstood me, i don't have a problem with them hosting a tournament... It's fantastic that they are trying to get more action for the brood war scene. What bothers me is that iccup is taking 10% from the prize pool. Iccup dota/starcraft they are both one entity *iccup* even though they're different branches....

If they host free tournaments with prize money with the 10% as they claim they will, then they are not keeping anything. Everything is eventually paid out to players in the end.
You can distrust them if you will, but you can not criticize their given plan for keeping money, because it does not.

Yes, you're absolutely right, same way as the TLPD SCII stuff constantly fucks up the LP Brood War part of this page. God, I hate them. Especially zere plastering his nude pics everywhere!

He is trying to do a trial for 1$, you can buy a drink at mcdonalds for the same price, if you don't want to play you don't have to pay. However, I am curious if you can do something to gain iccup dollars (i.e, event/accomplishments such as play 1000games = 50 iccup dollars or something, winners of icc-cl get some prize, etc). Nobody is trying to get rich from BW because it won't happen (unless you are a korean streamer) so any free money is always appreciated to those who will game anyway. I understand what you're trying to say but what bothers me is that iccup itself doesn't really care about BW. Only the admins from the bw divisions do care. That being said i'm very skeptical giving any sort of money to an organization that can definitely afford to sponsor a tournament but just choices not to do it and still retains 10% of the money that people give them. While they pour in more and more money into the Dota scene.
i dont know where you got those ideas from, but nobody really makes money tih broodwar nowadays and ICC does neither. I would be suprised if the Starcraft division saw any money from the main administration at all. So, if you play a tournament and give 10% to ICC, your directly funding an event that they wouldnt be able to host otherwise.
