Hello guys,
If you are interested to play Cash Tournaments - ICCUP is the right place!
We are going to implement a new feature which allows you to register one of these Tours for 5$ or 10$, depending on the Event.
The prize pool will be the sum of the registered players fee, obviously more the players bigger the prizes!
Such prizes will be given in a fixed percent, to guarantee winners getting always the fair amount of moneys in relation of the number of players:
- Winner: 60%
- Runner up: 30%
- iCCup: 10% (Administration will keep a little percentage of the money in its online-banking account for further events without registration fee)
Register, vote and post your feedback on our forum News: Cash Tours with registration fee
Best Regards

I don't think it is a good idea for Iccup admins to be able to keep 10% for whatever reason.

i fully support this all the way! awesome idea

As long as people want an incentive like money to stay motivated and keep playing, seems like a not-a-bad idea to me.

Great idea! I hope this grows.

So you want people to fund your tournament and as a thank you to them you'll retain 10% of the price pool so people can have the honor of playing on iccup's laggy server?
Why doesn't iccup take some of the money they are making from this http://iccup.com/en/store/category/6.html and fund it for a huge brood war tournament... actually why doesn't SC:BW have a proper button on their website navigation?

I think I will pay for a player to enter and then if they win split the winnings. It will be like having my own champion gladiator!

Umm...no offense but...At this day and age, if a person has the $$ to even host BW foreign tournaments, they will be hosting them through there own, or another custom bracket site, since it really isn't difficult, and give the winners more $, or more $ distributed amongst maybe a larger place pool as in 1st - 3rd maybe, this just doesn't really seem like it will work, judging by the amount of cash tournaments that are even hosted in the first place....
Hate to be a negative nancy but....IMO , this won't really work out so well.

I'm curious what kind of thought process lead you to make this post.
Anyway, two things need to happen for this to be awesome. 1) People need to actually play them 2) ICCup's 10% cut needs to actually be spent on events
Seems like a good effort though.

Guys it's a good idea, whether it will be used or not is a different story.

I don't trust those sneaky russians. They let you buy points, which is really bad and proves that ICCup has no integrity. I like this idea, though. I just hope that the money goes to some one who goes on TL, like Xboi or Face. Some one we can trust.
Also, when Birdie's server finishes, I hope every one moves to that so that we don't have to play on a server on which you can buy yourself to A-. I also hope that we'll have an ELO system.

it's good but i wouldn't put more than one dollar per tournament. 32 players 32 dollars seems enough for me.

Agree, I think buying ladder points makes laddering insignificant. Also, I think that you should pay money for some sort of iccup money points and use those to enter tours (5$ should get you into 5-10 tours). Then they could make some other way to gain iccup money points, i.e if you laddered over 500 games you get points, etc. Further, I believe you should be able to get specialized icons ONLY from the iccup money points. This way people would see a cool channel icon and wonder how to get it, and when they find out they have to pay OR play X amount of games then it will generate some effort/interest into the cause.

some ppl sure want their long tedious grind

OK... This would be actually perfect if there will be ranked based tournaments.
I mean, I wouldent sign up for a tournament where A+ players are playing because ID know Ill lose the 5 dollars (I mean, I might still sign up and pay the money, but rather less probable if I know 100% that Im not going to win).
It might be tricky in a few ways thou. Once you start paying a fee for enter, the rules of the tournament must be rock solid, and fair. Even if its only 5 dollars, if due to an unfair rule or decision by an Admin a player looses their 5 dollars, it could mean a disaster for ICC.

If your skill level is A-, it's not really a grind. 10 wins (8 on motw) and you advance a rank. You can get your rank to reflect your skill level very quickly. It's the learning that is a grind, as with anything else.
The first time I got to B I had like 500 games played. Nowadays I only need like 80.
