While that's obviously not going to last (because the novelty factor will go away), he could go down to 10% of that and still live a comfortable middle-class lifestyle.
Afreeca may end up being a bigger savior to BW than Sonic was, actually, if it makes it possible to play BW and also eat. We could end up with all the fans giving small micro-payments and that supporting the scene. Hell, that could be the way all eSports ends up going, not just BW.
Someone needs to introduce Sonic to Kickstarter, we could start getting OSL money again. (And get an English cast from a big SC2 name who used to be a BW guy, which would be really helpful in kindling a new foreign BW scene).
I've been shot down for saying that KeSPA BW going under might be seen as the best thing that happened to BW, but look at this! We are conclusively proving it's possible for people to play BW professionally and make good money doing it. Get some big names and some talented rookies, have them pool balloons, we have a pro team paying real salaries again. One answerable to the fans, not to KeSPA.
if blizzard poke their noise into our broodwar resurgence, there's gonna be many holes in my wall...
I know N.geNuity was joking, but Blizzard has never cared about personal streams, only tournaments. and Sonic is, IIRC, getting a Blizzard license as it is.
