noobish players are encouraged to participate in the qualifier - if you are lucky you get to play a top foreigner! but noobish players are nevertheless very unlikely to qualify for the final tournament.

I copy past mca64's statement, because he asked me for doing it:
why this plugin was blocked for my launcher? i added this registry to my launcher cause for some players like koget starcraft lags without my launcher. Here is screen: http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/2374/szet.jpg

Also, question from me, has this plugin any other special ability than adding gateway?

I also wonder the same thing, the file size is 99kb so I have some doubt that it's made just your modify your serverlist.

Sick. Map pool doesn't look that great for toss, but then again I played toss way back when, so the bias may still linger.

Thanks for your reply, Epoxide. You still haven't answered my questions, though.

I have seen Korean players, such as Pado and Terror[fou], play in Defiler tours. It looks just as easy for them to join as it does for foreigners. How and why should it be any more complicated in the TLS?

I think the point is that Korean players, most of them at least are much better players than foreigners and this in turn can discourage foreign players from improving. Aside from Sziky, I can't see many foreigners having much luck against Koreans. That and as he mentioned in the OP, communication is a big issue(possibly lag too). They'll need a translation and someone who's reliable. Best to grow the foreign scene, improve the skill then with due time, possibly open TLS to the Korean gamers. Either way, they have SSL/SRT etc... and with streaming, they are making enough to survive and thrive on.

Come on now, can't we just say that this is a tournament for foreigners only. Koreans have sospa, china seems to have their own little scene. And we have this.

Someone took a lot of hard drugs before selecting Destination for a tournament. It is probably one of the most boring maps that have ever appeared in the history of starcraft. Prepare to see cannons and tanks being laid on exps for 30+ minutes straight without any attack happening. Its a terrible choice.

Hi, BigFan.

You say that Korean players will discourage foreigners from improving because Koreans are much better. I believe the opposite is true: Having a better crop of tournament players will make the scene more competitive and will push foreigners to improve their game.

I'm not saying we should allow ex-progamers or SSL/SRT players in the TLS, as their skill level is much higher than even Sziky's. What I am suggesting is that we allow lower-level Korean players (i.e. amateurs and lower) that can communicate with officials and follow the rules of the tournament and, of course, not lag in their games with other players.
