bisus latest vid pains me to watch as a long time bisu fanboy. maybe someone will translate it but the gist of it is that he feels his time is up and doesnt believe he can keep up with the younger players. watching him in that vid makes me wanna cry almost. its the first time hes publicly admitted that he thinks hes washed up and genuinely feels hes not good enough to compete anymore. he said he felt ashamed of his own performances and skill whilst watching the winners match and had doubts about his own ability by just simply watching that series. pusan also says that he feels sad/angry for bisu because by just watching bisus movements vs snow he could see that they were the movements of a player that isnt confident anymore and thinking about retirement. he knows that bisu will be taking the loss the hardest and can relate because when he was in that position himself he did the exact same thing in his games.
with flash leaving and jd already having lost his passion for sc even before leaving to the army, stork already being a shadow of his former self, the era of tbls is definitely over. it just sucks to see bisu finally admit defeat and openly say his time is up.
he did say hell play in further competitions this year because he made a pledge to try his best this year, but his efforts to stay competitive this year will be his last.

thats whats so sad about this whole thing. i think most people would agree that in non-tourney settings bisu is still top tier but the pressure gets to him in tourneys now and he cant perform. however if bisu also thought this then hed still have the drive or confidence to say that he still has the ability to win a tournament as long as he performs to his best. now hes openly saying that he doesnt have the ability anymore. whether it be due to the pressure of living up to his own name or if he believes hes objectively not good enough, he has lost faith in himself to compete
Mental or not, a progamer is not gonna get better once he's over 30, plus after spending 1.5 years in the military. The main thing that has kept Bisu going after military is actually his fans. Tbh we should feel thankful Bisu hasn't joined Sea and Rain in streaming LOL and those talkshows (he'll probably join at some point though).
like Bisu was ever a mental juggernaut lol, but hes still my one of my favorite toss because of his superb mechanics.
ZerO came back from military in early 2019 (afaik) and took about a year before he won asl9 and 10. similar age as Bisu and used to be a choker too. everyone is different.

This is pretty clearly not true though, Bisu is a lot better now than he was 6 or 12 months ago. I don't think I've seen post-army Bisu perform better in spons than he is right now -- he's been the best protoss and in the top 3'ish area consistently over the last few months. His PvZ is actually at an absolutely insane level right now, throughout 2021 he has a winning record against every single zerg progamer he has played, and that is significant. The only players he has a losing record vs this year according to sponbbang are: Flash(2-5), Light(18-25), Snow(1-5) and Stork (3-4). Three of those are obviously tiny samples too.
Bisu being negative about his own abilities seems to me like something the best players (or those with the greatest potential) simply have to go through. How else do you improve and become/stay the best? Certainly not by being overconfident, I can say that much. But if you doubt your knowledge, then you give yourself a chance to become better. I can also say that Bisu should be quite confident in his multitasking abilities, he's obviously ahead of the competition in that regard.
I think Bisu should work more closely with Stork and study the theoretical aspects of the game with him, because they have contrasting approaches and both are very good at different things. I see Stork do smart things that make perfect sense, but his execution can cost him games. He's very thoughtful and observant and he likes to make very careful plans that look really damn good on paper, but unfortunately he tends to fall behind when it's time to have fast and precise execution (at least in PvZ), because he never seems to enter a higher gear. It'd be good if he learned from Bisu when it's time to push APM, because it'd open new doors for him that'd strengthen his overall gameplan. He can keep his APM lower in some situations, but not all the time. Meanwhile Bisu has great execution, allowing him to keep up with literally anyone, but compared to Stork he seems to be less tactically refined (at least at S-class level). His speed gives him a lot of small edges that build up over time and give him many opportunities. His problem is that he's so focused on being mechanically superior that he doesn't leave himself moments to think ahead from a tactical and positional viewpoint. That isn't to say he's bad at tactics at all, but it's not his strong point relatively speaking. In terms of strategy alone, both players are at an extremely high level. Their weaknesses are a bit more specific. If these two players learn from one another, they could probably increase their winrates in their weaker matchups and hence become a lot more fearsome overall. Because just a few % can make all the difference in a series.
What happened to Sea? Did ASL banned him or he's just not giving a flying fuck about BW anymore? Of course, when you're pulling 30k viewers it's cool to milk those juicy balloons but it's a definitely shame that BEST proleague player and formerly top 3 terran is wasting his time like this... And any info about AlphaGo I mean Last? His wrists are still fucked up? Such a shame, he almost reached FlaSh's level and now can't even qualify.
