Asshole deal by Afreeca, if thats the case.
Actually that has happened before.
A few teams prohibited their players from competing in the GOMTV Classic Seasons 2 & 3 in 2008/2009 despite the fact the Classics were officially sanctioned KeSPA tournaments.

It was so weird. The first season had like 7/12 teams participate, then the next season every team that wasn't MBC/OGN/estro participated, then the 3rd season it went back down to 7. It was a cool tournament because a lot of rookies got their first televised matches and got to play in a Bo3 (which also meant that we got see Boxer and other airforce players in Bo3s against players they could actually beat lol).
Anyone else remember Boxer's match against Killer (then known as Baxter lol) where Boxer killed him with nukes?

Actually, Killer goes by the name of Baxter now since he returned from the military. As for the game, I believe I've seen or heard of it, but a link would be nice.

1. The game was actually a ProLeague game, not in GSL. They did play two games in GSL though, and IIRC Boxer lost both of them.
2. Killer used the name "Baxter" since KeSPA days.
3. Here is the nuke game:

I'm merely saying that he wanted to go by that name after he came back from the military compared to before it where he kept the Killer handle.

it wasn't because it was/wasn't sanctioned - it was because the broadcast sponsored teams had a conflict of interest with gomtv and participating in what was perceived to be a competitor's tournament wouldn't make sense (estro was owned by ieg who owned the rights to proleague which explains their abscence).
remember these tournaments ran during a time where blizzard/kespa tensions were at an all-time high. ogn/mbc/ieg didn't want to lose the rights to produce/broadcast their marquee tournaments.

Just wanted to share this little BW-fact because maybe some people like me didn't already know about this (rather: I heard but forgot again).
As we all know, if you send a worker to a geyser before the structure on top (refinery, extractor, assimilator) has finished building, the worker will just stand there and not start to work, even if the structure finishes before the worker arrives.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/480772813?t=01h30m28s
FBH explains here how you can cue up workers to mine from a geyser before the necessary structure has finished building by using the gather-command and by timing the command correctly.
The worker will start mining if a) you use the gather-command while the structure is still being built but also b) the workers arrives at the geyser after the structure has finished.
If you do the same with just right-click it won't work. If the worker arrives before the structure is finished, it won't work, even with gather-command.
Just a little trick but it might come in handy now and then. Let's say your 3rd base's geyser will finish in the next 10 seconds but you really have to pay attention somewhere else, then you can e.g. send workers from another base with the gather-command, and due to their sufficient travel-distance they won't arrive too early and you can make sure that they will start mining.

Interesting, what if I spam queue (shift + ghather command)? Whould that earn me more time if my timing suks when it come to workers near geyser?
Edit: what is going on with that 46k ppl watching Brood War on Twitch? o.O

Edit2: Omg that girl celebrations are so funny xD fully honoring the FBH presence xD
Edit3: So 80k peack on Twitch alone for today event that was very long. Hopefully we'll see more of those going forward #hype

IIRC Ruby was like the only player to got ACE and actually perform better in proleague than before he went lol. And the only one I can think of that went back to a regular team after his service and was actually still fielded in proleague and not just be a glorified mascot like boxer/yellow/reach.
Man I love turning on Flash's or someone's stream in the morning while I'm working and watch them all take turns 1v1ing while the others spectate. It's like modern day proleague haha.

uh, definitely revising history there. pretty sure he immediately quit and went into acting once he was discharged from ace, as mbcgame disbanded during his tenure in the military.

Yeah, with Bisu Stork Guemchi and ZerO at it pretty much daily, there is definately something going on. Really enjoy it, would only need some new blood in the scene to keep things on~
Wheres MisO, Ample, or even JyJ lately? Also, ssak should come back soon, right? Miss that guy, so under rated imo

MisO said he didn't play like a month or so last ASL, don't know reasons, he got smoked pretty fast. Ample was making good runs lately, I'm looking forward to see him next ASL.
I always said how sSak is underrated, guy used to be top terran until Last hit his pride, even then he was taking games off him and almost knocked off Bisu from ro8. From what others say dude likes drinking and watching girl BJs but still perform at a top level whenever he plays.

Damn I guess you're right. Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else? Anyone discharge from ACE and go back to being a proleague regular on a different team?
