However, the problem is to actually find a change that makes sense. You cannot just make a list of all the strengths in a race's favor and call them imbalances. Yes, Terran has the most means of detection, however, their standard means of mobile detection, Science Vessels, are also by far the most expansive and highest tech ones and with more expensive scans or less dirt cheap missile turrets, Terran would probably have some real trouble against lots of early game shenanigans (not to speak of late game TvP). Yes, tanks are strong, scale steeply and get great critical mass bonus, but are also slow and costly to produce in the first place. SCVs with maybe 50Hp and 1 armour, or maybe just 45HP, could work. However, anything under 50HP/1armour would make them much more vulnerable to scarabs (one shot kills in 50% splash radius) and above that there is basically no difference in performance against anything in practice. Small changes, potentially huge effects is the problem in a game that revolves a lot around damage thresholds. Now the other thing SCVs have going for them is their 1/3 lower attack cooldown, compared to Drones and Probes. But changing that would just invalidate most of Terran's early game cheese and couter-cheese strats without changing anything about Terran's late game strength. Maybe buffing Queens (cheaper broodling? Energy upgrade increases initial energy? Give them [something like] consume?) and Scouts (maybe 10 damage, cheaper Fleet Beacon upgrades and maybe make the vision upgrade also add +1/+2 to attack range...) is the solution, after all... Or some more HP for guardians, so they trade better against Goliaths? I don't know, but neither of those changes would be as potentially devastating as any nerves that could be made to Terran directly, I think. | ||
