For the Lulz, I made another SCII conversion to BW... Monobattles! Original idea by Day[9] This is still beta! Problems/issues that you report to me will be greatly appreciated!
You may be like, whats monobattles... durrr. Fortunately, if you break it into syllables, mono-battles only one - fights?
Nevermind :D This is a 4vs4 game where each player can only build one unit! Players Red Blue Teal and Purple face off against Orange Brown White and Yellow
There are nasty triggers that kill off any unit you do not mind control at the beginning of the game. You will be refunded, but the production time will be gone.
Strategy is important, and communication to survive early-midgame is vital if selecting high tier units!
v1.02 > All > Introduction at beginning of game gives brief instructions, as well as in the mission objectives. > Symbolic > Vespene Geysers have increased amounts. > Citadel > New Map Added
What if you go guardians and upgrade air attack? Those 3 attack mutas could be deadly :o also there should be an option for infested terrans :D like if you Mind Control and infested Terran at the start, you start with 3 drones and an SCV? :D Also I'd be down to play, but times I can get on are limited
monobattles exist like probably year 2000 or earlier where people in battle.net got bored of simple bgh/fastest and some people added the monobattle rule. (no ums map, just friends following the rules, same with the all races FFA (everybody picks random, same races form a team))

You can also specify in the editor how much bonus damage units get from each upgrade, so this can probably also be changed to 0.
Anyway, this is awesome, I didn't think something like this would be possible in BW but I guess I underestimated the capabilities of the trigger system (and the creativity of mapmakers).
After trying to host this throughout the day, I gotta say, there are a surprising amount of morons in the broodwar community, who under no circumstance can comprehend simple and straightforward instructions.

Woops, fixed it :3

But if someone wants to go for mutalisk, then they will be stuck with 0 attack and 0 armor

Well you can help me make them lazy :D
Triggers is actually very easy. Just duplicating it was hard... But if you want to be able to create two units, then you must create 999999999 and let them all die before allowing you to make them :D
Choose your unit last? :D I suppose i can try to make it so there is only one of each unit, and when you mc it automatically removes and replaces so it remains unknown? Kindof like MCDefense?
I dont think its much of an issue, though I would suggest a brief triggerd message when the game starts explaining the premise. People dont read, or dont comprehend, the actual mission briefing...

I can convert the maps but idk how to do triggers I can't even make observer maps :/
Why not just have individual selection grids for each player? There is enough room in the middle. Also, when Zerg spawns, you can tell their location by creep on the map.

If you create the 8 player maps i can do the rest :D

Because the race you pick matters in this game, so segregation must be by race! D:

------------MAP HAS BEEN UPDATED------------
Can't you do if zergling hero then generate zerg units, if zealot hero then generate y units, if marine hero generate z units, etc? Also I don't think having map reveal the selections for all players is essential...
Good because I already made a sand canyon conversion did it over summer when I was a shitty mapper tho I'll send it to you...I was gonna make mono battles with it but the only way I could think of doing it was all 8 players have to play the same unit and just make one map for every unit XD EDIT: We should organize a 4v4 tournament for this teams would actually have to practice together and workout good synergies and counters xD also would it be possible to make the selection process kinda like LoL? Where first Player 1 of Team 1 picks, then P1 and P2 of Team 2, then P2 and P3 of Team 1, then P3 and P4 of Team 2, then P4 of Team 1? Could balance out the picking process...and give each player 30-60 seconds to talk and pick or they get a random unit

IDK if that's optimal, BW UMS players will be all like "ain't got time for that"
Or at least I would >_< I just don't want my enemies to know what I picked. Then you might as well do it all at the same time, and save time, no?

no. one rule is that you announce your units before hand.
in fact, people only see what you pick if your paying attention to them... also its neccesary or else there could be zergling-ultra-zealot-reaver vs carriers-guardian-zealot-tank
