Came here via bw, stayed for sc2, and I support both games. BW gameplay is exciting than sc2, but sc2 is incredibly fun to play and exciting in its own way but not as much. I'll stick on TL of course because I'm an e-sports fan, and I full support moba games although I share a dislike for LoL, and love kart rider (why dont we have a kart rider thread T_T), and I'll continue to cheer for my favorite players FlaSh, ForGG, MVP, eFFort and Leta. Of course, even if proleague becomes no more, I'll forever be a KT Fan. E-Sports 4 Life.
PS. Bw isnt going to die. and I can attest ot this based on my experiences in Korea this past summer. went to a PC bang and half the people were playing sc:bw, my cousins (who are 30 and 40 respectively) were playing sc:bw as their pasttimes although they had little care for the proleagues, OSL, MSL etc. The game may become outdated, but as long as the computer can support Sc:Bw, and as long as Korea exists, the game will go on. Maybe there wont be high stake tournaments, maybe there wont be leagues but people will continue to play.

I have a weird sense of honour and pride that just tells me to stay the fuck away from SC2, even though I can see the charm in the game.
I do not wish to be bedding the whore that killed my brother.
BW forever! <3

BW forever! <3
I have the same feeling bro ....
Gonna follow Dota 2 casually even tho I havent played Dota in years but its kinda fun to watch. Tried to watch LoL buts its hard to follow when you havent played the game and have no idea whats going on.
I already stopped playing games seriously when SC2 was released but I'm gonna play BW every once in a while untill there is noone else to play with.

Do the same I've done with sc2 so far, follow it from far away, watch some tournament here and there.
Play bw. Follow bw foreign events (which are pretty cool, and have had a wonderful revival this year, I hope more people try to watch them). Hope for a bigger diffusion of amateur korean bw events. Watch all those old vods I missed.
And I have a life to live too.
There is no "post-bw".

i will still visit tl once in a while and browse the kmd thread :p otherwise im done with starcraft i guess. loved watching both games but after getting more and more frustrated with sc2 i stopped playing and watching it completely..
the only game i will watch regularly will be dota2/dota!

I'll be honest I'd probably stop watching BW after this OSL even without the switch, I lost any emotional investment in BW after WeMade disbanded, I now wonder when I reflect on my time viewing BW whether I was a BW fan or just a fan of WeMade as my sudden loss of love for it happened the second I read that WeMade would disband I still watched the playoffs and I will watch this OSL but I don't really feel like rooting for anyone (Except hiya ofc). I've been getting into dota so I suppose I'll start watching dota 2 alongside SC2 from now on.

I hope GW2 can keep me alive, if not I'll have to start taking my carrer seriously.

I'm going to be taking massive course loads in university. Regardless of BW's survival, I'm out.

Yes, after BW (or even before post-BW) I will be out and maybe even stop playing video games. Going to become a pilot!

The next dual BW / SC2 tournament, if true, will still have BW matches, and if it fails horribly, theres a chance they get seperate tournaments and/or only BW.
Before all this doomsday calling, lets actually wait and see it ourselves.
Certainly, but I can't imagine waking up at 3 AM to watch some foreigner clan war. I'm not a doomsayer, I actually just made this thread as a knee-jerk reaction to GTR's translation. It isn't phased out yet but it's going that way. I added kespas twitter to the OP, get on that.

Sure, and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I'll tune in but let's not kid ourselves, the quality of the games is not comparable.

I see no reason to stick around, as I see SC2 an inferior game in every aspect that matters in BW (spectating, competitive playing and balance). I just follow SC2 because of some BW players, but it seems that everyone that was important in BW scene seems to have forgotten the only reason SC2 is as popular as it is being the bad game that it is.
Only in the sense that BW will be completely phased out. The dual league is confirmed and it's implied a full switch will occur. It wouldn't make sense not to, you can't have players practicing two games. So let's hope the dual league falls on its face.

Also League of Legends. I was about to say- do people really want BW to die with this? It doesn't have to, we just have to keep it running in our community. As we already are doing lol. What's with all this BW apocalypse "it's all over" crap?? Come on guys, the only ones killing the game at that point are you! It's not like we're dependant on the Korean scene to function 0,o What a bunch of emos.. Are you gonna wander off sobbing, or organise a fucking tournament? I know which one will keep BroodWar going, and which is self-indulgent pointless nonsense.
Nope. If you have anything to add, like pro team twitter's let me know and I'll put them in the OP. With your attitude I expect you to be making some noise on there.

Preparing to say goodbye to a websites that I've committed most of my time to. And also organizing my thoughts on writing a letter of absence.

I always thought that i would follow BW forever, and if it died, i would go with it as well. but, teamliquid has become the main exclamation point that is forbidding me from quitting. i'm still not sure what i'll do.....
|
I don't watch SC2 at the moment, but I will definitely follow how BW players will do in it! Probably not watching every game, just cheking results and stuff.
EDIT: Also, foreign BW forever!!!!
|
I'll still play BW. I like playing BW, so I'll keep playing BW. I want to get better, so I'll try my best to get better.
|
BW is an amazing game, SC2 is an amazing game. As long as both are played I'll continue to enjoy both playing and watching them both.
There are way too many people with sticks up their asses on here.

BW dies when I die.
I guess you can say i am a die-hard fan.

It's not like BW is banned from humanity if they switch.
