That's pretty ridicolous; it's a parent's job to monitor their child's activity, laws have nothing to do with that. Besides, isn't it easier to just change your windows password to make sure your son only plays when you want him to? There's plenty of programs that allow you to stay logged on windows only for x amount of time...

Next step is the private servers i guess. They just need to find a bs reason.
edit: Blizzard effectively killed US West.
I think it is kinda dumb to close all the server for everyone just because the kids don't have the right to play during the night. Win/win indeed.

My parents always threatened to put one of those child-lock programs on the computer when I was younger, even the thought of it scared me into regulating my time..
Until I found where they hid the disc for the lock program and broke it into 50 pieces LOL GG

Different people have different sleeping habits. I, for one, go to bed late and get up late. (good thing I have a job which is compatible to that. ^^")

pcrooms have LAN, progaming houses have LAN.
is there a specific need to have bnet up between 12am and 6am KST? god, some of you are making this out to be bnet shutting down 24/7 or something
i don't see how this kills bw like some of you are crying about
do you know why people in korea aren't making such a big deal about it? because the adults like it, and the young people over 16 don't give a flying fuck.
TL.net, where people who actually post about shit they know get ignored and posters just post whatever the hell they make their own minds up about regardless of how irrational it may be.
for those of you crying about civil rights, come to korea and organize an "occupy the blue house" or whatever for the under 16 year olds you care so much about.

The blizzard bashing in this thread is really annoying. It's the law of the country damnit.

Lol what? Blizzard will actually shut down US West server, where all koreans play, during korean night hours? It is US West server (for people who have difficulties in terms of reading comprehension, US West. US, Motherfucking, West). Korea can't force Blizzard to do it but if Blizzard does it anyway, it means that they really don't care about BW in the slightest. I'm an idiot.

From what i understand ( correct me if i'm wrong ) they will only close the access from Korea so you can still play on US West if you are living in the US. Still a huge blow since most of the users of US West are from Korea =/

SC2 will take a bigger blow if this actually commences because while Korean underages won't be able to play SC2 during night, underages that play BW can still play on fish/brain/iccup anyway. I don't think Korea can force fish/brain (that would be good though, more Koreans on iccup kekeke).
EDIT: I have less than 0 reading comprehension, so don't take my advices if you don't have even less.

i don't like the law itself either, it's an inelegant solution to a growing problem, but i do agree with what it's trying to do - curb young korean kids' overexposure to gaming, especially at night, when they should be sleeping or if not, studying.

Does this law affect Fish?

Don't think so, no.

It is so retarded that this can't be done by parenting. Do these parents have no hold over their teenagers? Why not have ISPs make a feature where parents can chose to turn off the entire internet connection during nights? This however seems like the stupidest solution. Punish everyone for the minorities problems.

dont worry guys, nobody actually plays on Blizzard Servers for Sc1 and Wc3, its all private servers and many of these private servers arent hosted in Korea and won't shut down. Children are generally much smarter than their parents so they will figure this out within 12 hours easy.

I'm in a PC Bang right now and 50 percent of people are playing BW (it's 11:26). I had this impression that everyone played on Fish and this wasn't a big deal but there is no minilauncher on here and you can't install anything so I guess they are playing on B.net.
I'm guessing if this isn't repealed PC Bang owners will make sure they have the launcher for the private servers. Don't know if there's a legal issue here.
