EPTOver the past three weeks, I've had very little time to play any BW, or get outside, or anything like that. For anyone that's ever organized anything, you know how hard it is. I've constantly been messaging people on Trillian and such, reminding them about matches, etc.
Today was the day of the TANL finals - a day I had set many a things aside for. We've been planning this for a while now. A shoutcast was set up. Ret was supposed to play Testie in a bo7 for a 100$. Unfortunately, none of that happened.
Before we continue, I should note something. I've always believed Nick, mostly because I thought he was misjudged. Whenever someone said he was a dumbass, I'd tell them that they are wrong - he is actually a smart person if you speak to him one on one. Whenever someone said he hacked, I'd tell them that they are wrong - he doesn't need to hack.
So, today I wake up. Freak was supposed to shoutcast today, friends were supposed to obs, and above all - people were supposed to enjoy. The main reason I organized (or tried to) this league was to give something back to the community - give a little enjoyment.
12:30 - people accumulate in the channel.
12:45 - Freak hasn't answered yet, and so I get Pride as a safety backup for the shoutcasting.
12:50 - Pride starts shoutcasting.
12:55 - Freak arrives, and does not go back on his word.
So, I tell Freak that he will shoutcast after game one. After game one, I start game two and forget that Freak is supposed to join the game to shoutcast on TeamSpeak, so Pride continues shoutcasting. Freak is supposed to shoutcast game three, but of course, that never happens. To the readers: Freak was hung over after a welcome home party the night before, and he - walked - all the way to his place to shoutcast for some ruddy tournament, something he never got to do, because Testie just "had to go".
It turns out, by the way, that Testie had to go play poker with his boss. I normally don't do this, but here is the chat transcript:

No, I do not think getting to know people is trivial. However, I've missed out on parties just to organise this, and it fails, because of you. My own sacrifices in vain, I can live with. But, you didn't just screw me over, you screwed tons of people over. People that were trying to listen to the shoutcast. Ret, who set aside his entire day for this. Friends of mine, who were sorely disappointed. My cousin, who logged on a bit late and wanted to listen to the shoutcast to try and get better at English (he lives in Poland), but never got to, mainly because there was no shoutcast to listen to. Freak, who at the moment I think I am the most sorry to. Through my fuck-ups (and yours, Nick), I don't think Freak will ever do any favors for me again. I also take this time to forgive FakeSteve, who no doubt Freak might be pissed at for sending him to such a retarded tournament oragnizer. radiaL, who's computer I troubled for no reason. Pride, who I gave five minutes to set everything up. To everyone that I told "Hey, 1 PM EST, #TANL" to. And, to Team Areola, who I have pretty much now shamed. I wanted to do a second TANL, but after the outcome of this one, what's the use? It'll all be a big joke anyway.
Mostly, I'm annoyed at myself. I will now be the victim of many, many "I told you so"s. Of course, what else is frustrating is that I remember something you told me - "you're doing a great job adminning this tourney". And I thought, this guy can't possibly screw me over. It'll be np. But, heh, you did it. Sneakily, too. I log on, and you tell me that you might only have time to play two games today. And then, you behave like an ass in the games, and after game two, "I told you I might have to go!" is what you say.
I guess what irks me the most isn't all the people I've disappointed, it's mostly that... I had expected better coming from you.
