So it's that time of the month for another thread on KTEC mice... Are there any Koreans willing to buy and ship KTEC mice out of S. Korea for a little bit more payment than they are worth? Has anyone privately done a deal like this before? I'm looking for either a KTM 3500 Pro or KTM 6500 (I've heard the latter is behind on production). If you are a Korean willing to negotiate with me, or you've had an experience buying one, or you know of another way to get one, let me know...

That wasn't my question and I had already seen that. Thanks for being off topic fuck twit.

edit: I looked at the topic you linked and the latest reply is useful. For that I thank you. However I don't take back my original post because you weren't referencing that reply. I still hate you, and my own life even more.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these 3500 models?
KTEC Optical KTM-3500 Pro 19,000
KTEC Optical KTM-3500 Pro 은나노 25,000
KTEC Optical KTM-3500 레드 11,000
KTEC Optical KTM-3500 오렌지 11,000
KTEC Optical KTM-3500 은나노 11,000
KTEC Optical KTM-3500A 10,000
KTEC Optical KTM-3500C 10,000

The last number is the price. Mainly my question is what is the difference between the 2 "Pro" models

KTEC Optical KTM-3500 Pro 19,000

The description on KTEC's website for the KTM-3500 Pro and the KTM-3500 normal are exactly the same... I think the only difference is the little box it comes in or something :| [Korean Link]

KTEC Optical KTM-3500 Pro 은나노 25,000

There isn't a link to the Pro은나노 on ktec's website, but there is one for the normal KTM-3500 은나노, so I'll just assume that it's the default KTM-3500 Pro mouse, except this thing has like, silver on it, which is supposed to kill bacteria or some crazy shit like that. I've only managed to skim the page, and my Korean isn't the hottest shit out there (they also started talking about ancient egypt and boring historical shit like that so I got bored) [Korean Link]

KTEC Optical KTM-3500 레드 11,000

Red KTM-3500

KTEC Optical KTM-3500 오렌지 11,000

Orange KTM-3500

KTEC Optical KTM-3500 은나노 11,000

See above on the Pro 은나노 shinnanigan

KTEC Optical KTM-3500A, B, C, D 10,000

KTM-3500 A is gray, B is orange, C is black, D is red

KTEC's official site also lists the KTM-3500 with silver as being \25,000, the different color ones being \15,000, and the Pro one being \23,000 (this is in case you really couldn't figure it out from the above links)

I wish the search function was up... From what I remember, the 6500 doesn't really benefit over the 3500 Pro for BW because the resolution of BW is so low. The improvements that came with the 6500 over the 3500 Pro would only help for high resolution (ie FPS).

Leg said this a while ago: "Ktec 6500 is almost identical to the 3500 (same insides,) except, the DPI is a lot higher on the 6500. The 3500 standard doesn't have the same chip thingy bonus as the pro and the 6500."

Stimey said this: "better mice usually have intangibly better sensor processing or optics.. dpi has nothing to do with that. dpi matters if ur using higher resolution modes in shooters or somethihn"

Potential said this: " The KTEC-3500 is a proven mouse and the Pro is just an addon to an amazing mouse with its Click and Capture technology."

My life feels so complete with my KTec ktm6500. It's so fast, yet amazingly precise and accurate. It fits right in the crook of your palm and has a sweet clicking mecanism for extremely fast and precise clicks.

Oh and good luck with getting one.

I think these are the differences:

3500 - 4000 FPS, 600 DPI

3500 Pro - 4000 FPS, 600 DPI, Click and Capture

6500 - 6500 FPS, 800 DPI, Click and Capture

but not sure ! I am trying to get another KTM-6500 for someone who contacted me on ebay. If that works out I'll let you guys know.

tru, but i suggest to use the PS/2 adapter on the 6500 so you can use it properly with logitech drivers. the ktec drivers weren't that good.

Click and capture basically makes the response of the computer faster with the click. Let's say you are zooming your mouse across the screen and you click it somewhere in the middle to make a drag box. There will be a small delay between when you make the click and when the box actually appears. Apparently the click and capture technology has shortened this delay to the point where it can mean the difference between capturing some units or not. I think it also contributes to the mouse feeling very responsive in general, and makes for a better overall feel.

So basically I think the 3500 Pro is worth the extra money over the 3500. If anyone who has actually used these mice or knows more than me (I just know what I've read here and there on the forums) then please correct me

btw.. does anyone know what the approximate costs for shipping would be? I was having problems using the calculators on fedex and UPS, and I have no idea what is the best deal. I'm looking for the slowest shipping possible from Seoul, S. Korea to Durham, North Carolina, USA. When I put in some numbers (approximate weight, dimensions, declared value) I got something like 70,000 or 80,000 won, which is too rich for my blood. However the shipping times were less than a week and I didn't see any option for something like 6-8 weeks. So any help would be appreciated on an approximate of how much shipping would cost realistically

yep ^_^ cuz of my little hands. i think i'd prefer the ktm mouse if i had regular to large sized hands tho.

Nony, shipping costs would be somewhere from $15-$20 from S. Korea to the USA. it has to be shipped Global EMS or something. at least that's what i was getting. it comes really fast, like 3 days. i wish there was a cheaper option that took longer too.

btw, for your quote on the price of the mouse itself.. does that include what you are taking as your payment, cuz I've found the 3500 Pro on some sites for like 15000-22000 won

Hello everyone , I know this is an extremely crazy bump (2005 lol) , but this is the only thread I saw related and I'd rather use this than creating a new one. I've always wanted a KTEC mouse for BW, I found this gem here and it is basically the only KTEC mouse I can find now adays, what do you guys think?

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xktec mouse&_nkw=ktec mouse&_sacat=0

Looks like a pretty sexy mouse.

EDIT : The 2 function buttons are in a really akward place....Might accidentally bump them but I guess you can always disable them.

I'll give some advice on these mice (I had one for 2 years).

These things are the god of mice. It's literally perfect for RTS games. I can't even imagine playing brood war with any other mouse. The mouse wheel is so nice, the click buttons are clicky, and the sensor is amazing

Only bad thing is the lack of side buttons and that mine died on me after 2 years, but 2 years for a $10 mouse (I bought mine from ibuyking) is worth it.

NOTE: THESE THINGS ARE FUCKING SMALL. WE BE TALKING ALMOST MINI MOUSE SIZE (Cause its for korean hands)
The world is burning and you rather be on this terrible website discussing video games and your shallow feelings

I only have experience with the KTM-6500 and it's size and shape were enjoyable. It may not be the best mouse for gaming, but it was my first gaming mouse so I suppose I would've enjoyed it no matter what. Like amazingxkcd said, it did feel small when I first started using it, but I got used to it and it wasn't a problem. The only dimension it felt small in was its height. I also agree that the buttons had a very nice, soft, yet firm, definitive click to them.

I stopped using mine after Xellos signed it after winning WCG 2004 with the exception of a few games of SC2:WoL beta.
