frozen you never saw him play. he became the worlds best player playing in a COMPLETELY different enviroment from boxer and garimto. becoming amazingly good when you're constantly practicing on lan with the best players in the world is a lot less impressive than becoming amazingly good when you're playing far less than them and online.

slayer was never a progamer, but still beat them all, while getting very, very good grades in school.

Thank you Good explanation (which is what I was after) ~_~

It is easier to respect someone who did not practice 16 hrs a day, 7 days a week for a year to get good.

Actually I kind of have more respect for someone who dedicate that kind of time to something.. Amazing work ethic (and really, we don't know how good he would have gotten had he practiced the korean way).

I have a different kind of respect for slayer I guess (I mean, I might have thought different if, as drone said, I was there and saw him play)

Yes if it is focused at something other than brood war. It doesnt exactly take a "hard worker" to play 16 hours a day.

It requires an enormous dedication to do it for so long O_O Garimto said that pros play 400 games a week when preparing for a tournament..That is something I'd be very hard pressed to do O_O I have played 14 hours a day for 3 days in a row during tltour. I was completely worn out and played like shit after a while O_O I managed like.. hm 60 games in 3 days.

It's complete and utter dedication to the game, quite amazing o_o

It is not really constructive. It is like practicing nonstop to be the best at a video game.

IMO playing 400games a week looks more exhausting than anything else.... It's a little too much to prepare for a tourney

That's like 60 games a day.. no one plays that much 200 games a week sounds more realistic, but even that is pushing it, and playing on weekends

Wow, I love it how NTT and Maynard always view the forum but never post unless...
Boxer will be in the US on the 16th - perhaps to give advice to South Korean President Roh, who is on state visit to the US this week, on how to handle any surprise tank pushes by North Koreans
