i think NTT meant the preliminary qualification organization of the KBK. i remember he said something like everyone cheated and created multiple accounts or play only with the same ppl.

Looked to me like he had pretty long hands, kinda looked too big for his twiggish body. That probally helped a lot if he was leaving his pinky at the ctrl and thumb at 0.

Oh the good ol days before everything was totally ruined by replays. The horrible have become good and the good have become great all by copying players such as slayer.

I remember when I first watched slayer play irl, met him at this lan party called the gathering right before he won kbk.
I quit trying to become good afterwards because his speed convinced me I could never become as good as him no matter how much I practiced. and he wasn't only fast either, but also really smart! (and if not for the fact that he quit playing for almost 2 years, I would never have been as good as him either. )
im in agreement with everyone claiming he was the best/most talented ever.
and he gave me a coke woohoo that was such a happy moment

I think a distinction needs to be made between apm(the gold standard here) and the speed someone like slayer had. APM means you click buttons and keys very fast. I've seen some players who hands move like crazy and click like mad sometimes, example smuft and chrh, but thats all their speed really entails, telling an scv to move to a location 60 times, flipping back hotkey groups 1-2-3-4-5-6 over and over and over. I would regularly see these plays make mistakes because they were busy "being fast". These people should not be considered "fast" despite their apm numbers. Slayer was extremely fast without all that filler bullcrap.
Seriously why does everyone here get on an apm kick as if its the final word? Shouldnt too high of an apm make you think that there is a lot of useless clicking that could distract from gameplay?

amen... my friend went to a LAN, his APM is like 70-80, and he was beating players that were 180+ (this was in war3, but the same logic still applies) saying that 180+ APM users repeat the same action needlessly, like move herex20... what's the point? move herex1, new unit etc...
i know most people dont right click the same action x20, but still, i'm sure some people do to make it look like their APM is so high =/

frozen you never saw him play. he became the worlds best player playing in a COMPLETELY different enviroment from boxer and garimto. becoming amazingly good when you're constantly practicing on lan with the best players in the world is a lot less impressive than becoming amazingly good when you're playing far less than them and online.
slayer was never a progamer, but still beat them all, while getting very, very good grades in school.
