Bisu > BaBy

Q: Your thoughts on entering the Ro8?
A: With this, I have taken a big step toward higher achievements, so I feel elated. I’ve already been eliminated from the other leagues, and I only have WCG left, so I know I have to play well in WCG.

Q: You won in game one, but in a messy fashion.
A: In the early game, BaBy dropped a couple of units, and I knew I was going to have trouble from that point. But I held, and I knew I could continue. I saved resources and troops, and once I had a sizable army, I felt like I could win.

Q: Your thoughts on Game 2?
A: I couldn’t believe that I had advanced 2:0 quickly like that. My luck in the second game was pretty bad.

Q: In the Ro8, you’ll face the winner of Kal vs Kwanro.
A: I play too much PvP, so I feel like playing PvZ this time. I feel like fighting Kwanro would be very interesting.

Q: You were sadly eliminated from the OSL not so long ago.
A: It was truly regrettable. Of the two Starleagues, I only had the OSL left, and I didn’t even go down with a serious fight in my loss to Effort. I regretted that incredibly, and hoped for tiebreakers. But because my own abilities led to this situation, I couldn’t do anything about it. Leta said he was very sorry about losing to Action and avoiding tiebreakers, and I was OK about it. Even in the case of tiebreakers, I wouldn’t have surely advanced. (haha) During the All-Stars Match, Leta apologized to Effort and I, and even hugged us (T/N awwww). I’m very grateful for his empathy.

Q: Many other progamers seem to have gone on vacation.
A: Since I still had the OSL and All-Stars match, so I couldn’t visit home until September. In the practice house, I still sometimes see my progamer friends. Most of them are still on this side of Kangnam (T/N a district in Seoul, thanks scintilliaSD), so living in the practice house is not too bad.

Q: Last year you got bronze, do you have greater ambitions this year?
A: Last year in the WCG Korean representative selection, I won the qualifiers but ended up getting only third at the grand finals (T/N thanks zdubius). It feels impossible to get first place. (haha) However, there is prize money, so I must get first place. I hope to get into the top three first, then go to LA.

Q: Any final remarks?
A: It’s hot, everybody take care to avoid heatstroke! (T/N LOL random)

EDIT: WHOOPS source: http://www.wfbrood.com/xingji/hanguoxingji/xingji_53826.html

Jaedong > HiyA

Q: Your thoughts on entering the Ro8?
A: I played with a relaxed state of mind, made possible by fighting a teammate. I threw myself fully into the match, and since it turned out well, I advanced again.

Q: Your thoughts on fighting your teammate HiyA?
A: It helped me clear my head and avoid being anxious, so I could display my full strength. In the practice house, we often play each other for practice, so I didn’t carry much of a burden.

Q: You’re going to be playing Light in both the MSL semis and the WCG Ro8.
A: I’m very confident for both matches. When two players fight often, mechanics becomes very important in deciding victory. Light is also an excellent player, but I crushed my opponent in the Ro8, so I actually feel more confident.

Q: Even after Proleague ended, you continued playing more matches, don’t you feel tired?
A: Right now it’s the Proleague off-season, so I’m taking good care of my physical health, and I’ve been exercising hard as well. Therefore I haven’t been feeling tired and I’ve been sleeping well, and I’ve generally kept my condition good in spite of all the matches.

Q: HiyA said (T/N in another interview) that in practice the difference between your skills was paper-thin.
A: The results in practice aren’t so important. Every progamer in every team is outstanding, so that makes televised games that much more important. The phrase “paper-thin” is pretty interesting. In the practice house I have a huge drive to win, but in televised games I focus on the basics (T/N ?), so I have motivation there too.

Q: Apparently, you want to win the global WCG (T/N Do you really want to win the MSL too?)
A: The first step must be to qualify as a Korean national representative, so I won’t focus on winning WCG yet. I don’t care whether I get third or first in Korean WCG, I’ll feel the same as long as I represent Korea.

So nice to see Bisu get past the Ro16 and get some form back. Probably the best of two out of form players, but a win's a win.

Wow, can't believe that if Fantasy beats Zero, then both MSL semi-final matches will be mirrored by WCG ro8 matches right before. What are the chances!

Bisu! I really hope he makes the top 3 again this year. I'm considering heading down to LA to watch the Grand Finals if he does.

Aww, the part about Leta apologizing made me smile.

Thanks for the translation!

Did Jaedong actually say he "crushed" his opponents in the ro8 or is that translators words?

I think he said he stifled their opportunities, but that's pretty cumbersome to say, and IMO it's about equivalent to "crushed."

Last year in the WCG Korean representative selection, I won my first game but ended up getting third anyway (T/N anyone want to enlighten me on the WCG format so I can make sure I get this right?)

Korea has 3 representatives in the WCG, Bisu won WCG Korean qualifiers (1.Bisu 2.Stork 3.Jaedong), but in the international grand finals in Chengdu he only got 3rd (1.Jaedong 2.Stork 3.Bisu).

Thank you for the interview, looks like the favourites advance so far.

In the Country Qualifiers, the top 3 players go to the WCG World Championships...
Normally, the fans are more excited about the 3-4th place match than they are about the 1-2nd place match because both players in the 1st 2nd place game are in.
3 players go so it's possible for a country to sweep and get Gold, Silver, and Bronze (which happened last year with JD getting Gold, Stork getting Silver, and Bisu getting Bronze)

GO BISU!

With that said, his PvT play was pretty standard and uninspiring...he won't stand a chance against Flash. -_-
