Also has anyone ever watched a civillian die really closely? It's litterally the same animation as a marine dieing. Like, it turns into a marine to die, talk about lazy Blizzard...

I have always intrigued by the blue goo death animation ever since the first day of playing SC. - Hydralisk: Cool. A Hydralisk when killed looks like a pile of pork, especially when 10+ of them die under storm. And the sound they make (aaaaarrrr). - Ultralisk: Exploded cows with their rib bones visible. (A honorable mention: The Ursadon neutral critter, whose death looks like a pig getting exploded.) - High Templar: yoooooooww sound and blue traces of hallucination. Not very good death animations: - Mech units + Firebat: Bland, meh. And why does the Firebat explode but not run around incinerated? - Air units except Zerg's: I know the graphics at that time were not good enough to support the "capital ships exploding and their humongous bodies inevitable descending from the sky like fallen titans" animation, but still bland. Zergs are still cool since they explode in a pile of blood. You forgotttttteedd vessel. They are best because of the sound. After 8 get plagued and a muta comes in, the best lol.

It looks like a generic death explosion from a crappy game maker program, and no unique death sound either. Actually, the archon has an own death sound as well, however the sound file is unused. ![]() Anyways, my favourite death animation is when you explode a critter by clicking many times on it. (alas, it works only in single player...)

Actually, the archon has an own death sound as well, however the sound file is unused. But if you extract the sounds with BWSoundUtility, you can play it. (file name: parDth00) Wow, I never knew that. I listened to the file and it actually sounds pretty cool.

Other than, the most "satisfying" would be storming 20+ hydras in a battle and then having my army march through the pile of bones and blood and whatever is left. I play protoss.
