I have made a microcontrol ZvZ map (1:1).
The map has: -56 rounds -battles take place on Lost Temple -Fog of War -Upgrades -4 Observer Slots
56 rounds including: -muta wars /muta + scrouge wars -scrouge cloning -tsunami style -storm dodging -drones vs lings -lings vs lurkers -hydra-ling -defiler shooting interceptors (*last round to make you play it)
The map has been tested and balanced as much as I could. However comments are welcome so that I can improve it. (If you say that some of the storm dodging rounds are impossible then you are a newbie.)
Download the map here: http://republika.pl/fledgeling/micro/micro_ZvZ_LT-gamei_beta37p.scx
(version 0.99)
(info for map makers - hyppertriggers, 9 switches, generic command target ai, 50 locations (half unused hehe), over 100 triggers)

Sounds interesting. I'm a Zerg user so I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the hard work, all.

I just played it, and I don't suggest it to anyone.

56 rounds of 10 lings vs 10 lings, 10 mutas vs 10 mutas, 12 hydras vs 6 mutas 6 lings, etc. I doin't like it. That's my reason.

So it just gets boring? Or it isn't helpful at all?

that's pretty much what microwars is supposed to be. what more could you ask for?

I tried to add some 'funny' things (tsunami, storm dodging, lurker + medic vs hydra) to make the rounds less repetitive and interesting, there aren't 10 rounds that are the same -_- (in fact maybe only the muta wars are 2-3 times the same, yet it is zvz microcontrol...). However plz comment which should I delete, so maybe I will make a lite version.
btw. in queen + muta you have to try to divide the enemy force on half the same goes to tsunami style -much easier to win in hydra+ultra vs hydra you can see that hydras do the real damage (like in ultra-ling) in storm dodging you can consume overlords, they are tasty beware of the interceptor of death from ChoJJa's Defiler, it kills everything it hits including your own units

Not in my opinion. A mirror matchup micro wars will never be fun. I didn't play this entire game that the guy made, not because I didn't want too, but because my opponent says "okay you win, this is getting boring." It is boring. Anyone can create a Micro Wars, anyone. But some micro wars are better than others, that's a fact.

Computers can't micro though. What would be the point? Unless you were going to try to kill like 50 lings with 1 hydralisk. @_@
|
ahh.... I had an idea to make a micro map on lt a lil while ago....
|
computers cant micro but they can force you to micro the same way you would against a person in some situations

But you have micro challange for that. Also computer players I guess.
|
Could someone please edit it to Computer vs a person? I would really appreciate that... very very very much @_@ like... (1)u gotta use mutas to kill a photon cannon and gotta dodge storm @ the same time (2)drones vs computer's zerglings and some other stuff that need micro...

it wouldnt work. the levels arent designed for comp vs human. designing comp vs human micro is different

I played this today vs a decent Z user like myself... It's pretty good, I feel most was balanced, at least upon thinking about the ones I didn't feel were balanced I thought it would be hard to fix them(Muta vs Muta/Scourge were all won by Muta player not the mixed player). However, this is a VERY LONG micro map. By the end of it I was pretty bored. I would say take out the initial locational ling battles since they are fag-city. Make all ling battles take place on enclosed 12 spot, take away most of the weird matches like Hydra/Ultra vs XX and Kerrigan vs XX and do more variety in muta battles. Make a large scale muta battle or two, since that's what is hard in muta battling IMO. Good work though, nice map. Wish someone would do a TvT and PvP one. Maybe one for every match up@_@
|
It was pretty good. I agree with most of the stuff red.venom said, since I was the person he was playing the map with. I'd like to see some more devourer/mutal rounds also and larger air battles.
Note: I think someone posted a H.O.T/Reach rep pack recently. In that replay pack there were two reps (junyaiur and ogogo I think) where H.O.T had some good devourer use.

Good job. Tiny improvement I'd like: break up the big 56 fights map into several smaller maps with less fights having a specific theme like "zergling battles", "Mutas and Scourges", "Obscure units that nobody really would use like ultras, and hydras", "Kerrigan and the defiler that wants to defile her"

Thank you for the responses, I am aware that the biggest problem of the map is the fact is is long and has many rounds, yet I believe that it is mainly used by people who want to practise micro. Maybe one day I will make a 2.0 version with hatches at the bottom part to practise macro while microing and divide the map into smaller parts. As for the Fog of war IMO it is needed, because in real game you cant see much (unless you mapohack T_T) and the ovies are enough to spot. In fact some koreans managed to clone scrouges when the mutas were in the ovies line of sight.
The scrouge + muta rounds are possible to make, one of the betatesters even said that they are too easy (like 12 scrouge vs 5 mutas, he asked what are the addtional 2 scrouges for T_T).
As for the zerg vs comp micro, such one exists, so there is no need to make it. BTW. Im looking for a host of big files/file (6 x 2 mb) which can be downloaded many times.

i could host anything u want if it's starcraft related.. its toptalent's space but he said if it's starcraft related its ok

Are you prepared for many downloads? I will try to contact with you on Friday. If you will be on bn msg 8882.
