huh, im not flaming him at all, im just stating some facts because i know exactly what it was like, im just saying that by him playing 24/7 for 3 years in a row he has a good chance now to do something great for himself in the korean scene... i really hope he does well

Just need to comment on this, it's a lot easier to be good at a game at a young game. If you start playing seriously at the age of 15, in 1 year you're expected to be a lot better at the game compared to if you started at the age of 19.
The fact that they started playing so young might be impressive, or the potential they have. However, saying that it's a miracle they're that good at their age is just stupid. It would be a miracle if someone started playing Starcraft at the age of 20 and became that good in the same amount of time.

He played really well, much better than vs 45[Name] but he always has idle scvs. He needs to clean up his play a little but that obviously comes with practice.

Well, Flash has idle SCVs all the time as well so I doubt it's too bad. Unless they're in / near his mineral lane.

You didn't get a single word of what I said =[
It's not about them beeing young. It's about the fact that 12 years after the release of Starcraft, some non Korean kids are actually attracted to play the game to the point of wanting to go Korea and play pros.
It's awesome that Starcraft 12 years after its release, is able to offer something you can't find anywhere else.
Besides that, many fail to realise that their judgements skill wise are irrelevant, and that unless you're able to formulate your thoughts in Korean to the correct persons, it wont help anyone, especially the players under the spotlights.
What I'd like to hear, is rather comments on Korean comments, as in asking Grape his thoughts, and from that, elaborate for instance.
Estro people are the ultimate judges of their skills, if not Artosis as he's setting this up himself.
I mean, it's like sending an amateur chess player against a pro and whining about the results while also questionning someone's aspirations.
As for Koll and WCG because I saw it mentionned several times, well, while WCG might not be the best evaluation of skill, WCG is one of the very single entrance to Korea for a player.
Elky for instance was able to perform in Korea and get invited to leagues and stuff BECAUSE he got 2nd at WCG. Even with the same skill level he had, without that 2nd place he would never been a pro gamer.
What some here are trying to breach for westerners to go to Korea seems to me like a better attempt at sending people to pro gaming. It profiles the players pretty well imo and they should get decent results from this, someday.
Also, over the two last years, we had a batch of a grand total of 3 players going to Korea to try it out. While the way it is done and the results aren't OSL an MSL titles, we got one who is still in Korea playing.
Imagine how many young semi pros and practice partners in Korea fail every year in their pro gaming attempts ?
How many titled champions we've witnessed go into retirement over the last 3 years ? (eventho its mostly generational consequence).
Now considering 1/3 of the foreigners that went there in the last two years actually found a spot in a team without any prior local structure to train them and get them to Korean level, other than ICCUP, I think it's pretty good results and should encourage the community to support any decent and young player formulating the wish to go pro.
Actually, and this is merely a personal opinion, I would rather had TSL run longer with much more games played, and the pool prize devoted to paying the winner's expenses for 3-6 months in Korea.

what if the winner doesnt want to go to korea?

Well that would just mean he isn't the right competitor.
But TSL official goal is to run an online foreign starcraft league, not to send a player to Korea.
I just said I'd rather have worldwide tournaments acting as a Korea pre qualifer.
That's only my opinion, TSL is already a great thing.
However I'm sure there's enough passion in the west to get some of its individuals to compete in Korea.

Question: In game 1, + Show Spoiler +How was terran so sure protoss wasn't going dt? He skipped ebay for a while in favour of a fast 2nd fact, and took a little bit to get mines as well. Would he not have been completely destroyed by a dt build? Ignoring the fact that he eventually won, was such a gamble really worth taking?
Neat games, would be nice to know what terran's personal thoughts on the matches are.

Well the winner can spend his money on going to Korea if he wants, doesn't he ?
|
Gosi Terran was/is a west user, thats were u will really get better
in iccup u wont get better only if u mass, MASS games but u will be an inconsistent player =)

That makes no sense at all.

I'm not saying he can't, I'm just discussing the matter of the means of sending someone to Korea as it seems nowadays foreign community support could become significant in a way or another in achieving such goal.
