StorK IEF Champion:"It was lucky that I won"
First place winner of the 2009 IEF, Stork in a final defeated STX’s new player (not sure if this is correct)’s Terror in the StarCraft department but unfortunately his undefeated record have been finally been taken down in the final round. This is his interview.
-How did you feel after winning the tournament? ▲I didn’t really think that I would win, the other Korean players have been knocked out by foreigners in the group section so I am not really that happy about it!
-Some Korean players were eliminated by foreign players ▲The locations for the broadcast games and the normal games were far apart so I didn't find out the results for a while. When I heard them I was shocked. If they had played more safely they would have progressed, so it was disappointing they couldn't do so. I tried hard to play an adaptive style.
- Too bad you missed out on an undefeated victory. ▲ I was very disappointed. After I lost game two of the finals, I thought hard about why I had lost, and I realized I had forgotten to get dragoon range, which made me laugh. I make the mistake of forgetting upgrades frequently, so it was funny that it happened again.
-Thought on facing Koreans? ▲Since Bisu and I played each other in the finals last year, we were seeded for this year's tournament. When I saw the map pool for this tournament, I was a bit surprised. I worried that I might have to play Effort, and was preparing myself after he beat Bisu. But Effort got eliminated early which let me win the tournament. Still, I was a little disappointed because I've been doing pretty well lately, and I wanted to evaluate my skill against other Korean players in some unofficial matches.
-How does it feel facing Terror? ▲He was a professional gamer before as well my information on him is very little. My teammate helped me a lot!
-Samsung Khan lost again today in the Proleague ▲There are still about 50 games in the Proleague, after I get back from WCG, I will put tons of effort to carry our team to victory. If there is a person that can lead the team, then I believe we will get a huge moral boost so I want to be one leading.
-You can participate IEF again next year. ▲I heard that IEF will be in China next year and same with WCG this year, the winner of IEF will also have to go to China, this will be 2 years straight going to China. I am very concerned about H1N1 so I am not feeling comfortable leaving the country and plus I am dieting too, China have too much greasy food so it might affect my diet. Also, I would enjoy the music performances if the tournament was in Korea, but not so much in China. So a trip to China isn't all good (laughs).
-Any last word ▲Today was Brave’s debut match in the Proleague, he fought well but still lost. I think that if he can accumulate more experiences, his overall skills will increase so do not be too concerned about this lose. Hopefully our team can work their best to increase our ranking!

Yeeeaaahhh, go Stork! Make a comeback and carry Khan.

Heh seems like Stork didn't really enjoy/care about the tournament.
Hopefully Stork can save Khan, they've been doing so poorly in the PL lately. Thanks for the translation

Did anybody else notice? Stork is so self-degrading!
I won due to good luck... I was scared... I didn't think I could win...
But he won anyway. The other Koreans got cocky and got eliminated. Stork played scared and won.
I LOVE STORK!
He seriously simply tells you whatever he thinks during the interview. No boring crap like "I will practice even harder to win more." "It's all thanks to my teammates" "If I push harder, I can win more", rather he tells you "I think that Chinese food is bad for my diet".
Love his last words as well. So supportive! I seriously hope that he can return back to the S-level player that he is and carry Khan once more to victory.
STORK FOR LEGEND OF FALL! DOUBLE CROWN!
P.S. I think that Stork is taking his dieting a bit too far...
|
Damn, his face does not look right. He needs some more meat on his cheeks. He actually used to look somewhat strong and fit when he had flesh left on those cheeks. Now he looks like a stereotypical gamer.
He looked pretty healthy when he was up against ggameo, wonder what happened in the last lil while.

Chinese food is pretty oily/greasy, but it shouldn't affect you too much if you're only there for a couple of days for a tournament.
|
He seemed a little hard on foreigners. Maybe its just the way I read it, but he seemed almost shocked that a foreigner beat a korean.
