With my latest win I'm halfway to being C ranked on iCCup! This is a HUGE accomplishment for me because I've never actually played a lot of games on iCCup due to getting bored (and being bad at the game), but because of TSL I've played a lot this season. Oh and here's the link to the previous blog I had before this which is Part 1 of my "notes". Part 1
Protoss vs Zerg (8 wins - 8 losses - 50%)
@ 3500 Protoss vs Zerg (10 wins - 9 losses - 52.6%)
I still have a slight psychological problem with this match up, but I guess it's getting better. I have now reverted back to the normal FE build from my original 1 Gate Tech builds and it's proving to be better at this level of play. The problem is the 3 Hatch Muta -> 5 Hatch Hydra still. Still looking for a partner to practice with for this match up if anyone is interested.
Protoss vs Terran (9 wins - 8 losses - 52.9%)
@ 3500 Protoss vs Terran (14 wins - 13 losses - 51.9%)
I guess I still have the same mindset for this match up as I did before when I just entered C-. The one thing I don't know how to react to is when the Terran expands so much. I'm at 9 and he's at 3 on Python. The game goes normally and I take my natural and he takes his, so I take my third. He uses his mass Tank + Vulture + Goliath + Turret line to secure his 3rd (bottom right expansion) and then he slowly creeps and take the bottom half of the map. I figured since he didn't have that many Goliaths I'd go Carriers but didn't even phase him. All in all, I need to figure out this match up and how to react better to builds or I'm going to get steamrolled.
Protoss vs Protoss (15 wins - 5 losses - 75%)
@ 3500 Protoss vs Protoss (20 wins - 15 losses - 57.1%)
Man, I lost a shit load of PvP matches lately. Most cases were on Python where I go either 2 Gate, or 1 Gate Tech and the opponent opts for the one I don't choose. Somehow when our ramps are facing each other and I go 2 Gate and he goes 1 Gate Tech I still end up losing? I guess I'm really screwing up my decision making here but it's getting better. I solidly beat a C- Korean who had a record of 24 wins and 1 loss on Destination with a Reaver build so the win makes up for all those stupid losses before.
Analysis
If someone could help me analyze a few replays as to why I lost it would be awesome too. Need all the help I can get to improve my game. ^^
PvP - None
PvT - None
PvZ - None
NOTE: I'll add some once I get to school. Gotta watch the replays first and then upload the ones I don't understand.
Hackers
Man do I hate hackers, and holy crap there are so many on iCCup still, even with the Anti-Hack feature on I still run into a few hackers. I've run into a couple D/D+ level hackers whom I've already reported, as well as a C level hacker which surprises me as to how he even got to that level without being caught in the first place. Three things I checked for in each replay after I finish the game.
- Check the timing of their split to see if they select each worker separately.
- The invalid building selections (the * mark you see when you choose "Build").
- Hotkeys. Oblivion hackers have 0 hotkeys.
Conclusion
Guess I'm done for now, I hope the next time I come to update this blog I'm a C ranked Protoss player. Oh and, TSL FTW! It's what's motivating me to play so many games. ^^
