Is the class 5 days a week instead of 3? Maybe you have to write some huge paper and that is why it is 3 credits instead of 2(due to a shorter length). At my school we had classes that had all sorts of different lengths, but they would all start at the beginning of the semester so I have no idea. I guess you could just email your ethics prof/ta and see what's the deal?
Edit: After reading the description again, I hope for your sake that it doesn't start right away and is a shorter class.

Yeah most of my grad classes are on goofy schedules like that.

It might be part of a bigger program and meet 6 hours a week rather than 3? I have no idea, usually at Temple on my summer courses were compact like that.

This course examines opinions about right and wrong conduct in relation to self, other people, animals, and the environment. Reflections on human values and the basic ethical positions that guide or inform peoples' lives are emphasized. Selected readings from contemporary sources and great moral philosophers are studied.
First day of semester is August 26. I wonder if this is a mistake or something, will have to ask tomorrow.
Yes its normal to have classes start in the middle of the semester or end in the middle of the semester.

I guess. But I can't understand such a class covering such a topic to be so short. The description says nothing about being a 2 semester or anything of the sort.

just email the professor and ask him. I'm guessing that's a typo, it'd be strange for such a standard class like that to have such a goofy schedule.

That is pretty strange. 6hr/week in Ethics would not be fun, and probably not all that helpful since it's not really a class you can cram into a short time frame.

yeah in China we take it in Elementary School. It's called 思想品德 which translates into "The thinking and the virtues"

Hopefully you don't end up like this

Sounds like a course I'm taking, although ethics is part of the course I'm taking

No offense, but that sounds like a terrible time to take ethics. The course is about the "thinking" part, which doesn't really start happening until middle school-high school.

Apparently it is not a typo/bug it is an 8 week class. Strange.
