hi guys, i have another problem :S
i thought i should post this here because its a forum i visit frequently and i dont really know any good cs websites. if mods want me to take it elsewhere though, ill go.
ive downloaded some custom counter strike source maps from cstrike planet. now, i know ive put them in the right spot in the directory and they work in single player. the problem is, when i run source dedicated server, the console wont let me change to those custom maps. i also tried through the main part of the server too but doesnt work. doesnt seem to recognise the maps.
can anyone shed some insight? what should i do to be able to host these maps?

Keep in mine first of all that the map loction for counter strike source is separate from the map loctaction of source dedicated server (srcds).
If I remember correctly from the last time I used srcds, it has its own folder with its own cfg folder, maps folder, bin folder, etc. You need to put the maps in this folder.
I hope you're using the standalone srcds and not the one included in the tools area of steam. The one in the tools area of steam is outdated, glitchy, and should not be used.
http://www.srcds.com/ is a great resource on helping you install the standalone srcds and getting it set up.
If you don't want to use the standalone one but you put the maps in the srcds maps folder, try going into your srcds console and typing
map de_insertmapnamehere
or to not restart the server upon chaging map:
changelevel de_insertmapnamehere

oh ok, yeah i was putting the maps in cstrike / maps, and it works in single player but isnt recognised on the server
unfortunately yeah, im using the one in Tools. :S i will download it though and use it

ive got a problem with source too
it shows me these fancy graphics but the gameplay seems to be broken

Let me hijack this thread for once, I bought logitech clearchat pro, I can't get it to work in CSS, when I speak, nothing happens. I enabled voice and tested mic, yet it doesn't work in game.
