For everyone under about 700-800 lbs lifts your DL should be higher than your squat.

I sorta just started a couple months ago but people are telling me to get lifting shoes. I was looking them up and i found some. I looked through some other forums and i found some do-win shoes that are under 100 usd. I just wanted to see what shoes you would recommend and what shoes you didn't like. weight 150 lbs (69kgs) current highs squat 143 kilos 2 reps deadlift 120 kgs 5 reps clean 100kg 1 rep power jerk (never tried split or squat jerk yet ) 80kg 1 rep snatch 60kg 4 reps You do your own programming? Wait.. do you even have a coach? I know of a couple sites that post workouts in cycles. Performance menu is one... check out equipment forums there might be some topics of what types of shoes to get. http://www.performancemenu.com/index.php Deadlift shouldn't really be lower than your squat there..... Lifting shoes do really make a difference though. Thanks for link. It links to the do-win shoes on the site too :D My deadlift sucks since my lower back is weak and it usually hurts in between lifts. I think i need to loosen it up more when i lift. Plus my grip is weak too. I only do oly lift gym once a week and i dont really have a workout for it :O. Theres a coach there too. I workout somewhere else the other 2 days i lift. Well, that's probably not good. If you got an injury you should address it. Hopefully it's nothing structural,... if it's muscular consider getting a massage/foam roll. The only lower back pain I've seen from people is when their technique is a bit off though so you might wanna get some feedback from video or have your coach look at your lifts. i raise my hips faster than my back rising sometimes which is why i think it causes backpain. The coach or anyone else thinks my form is fine. He just gives me small tips about form. Yeah, that will do it. Drop the weight some and stress proper technique. If no one is willing to correct you vid yourself. You can post up vids on PMenu in the weightlifting/powerlifting section and people there will give you critiques if you desire. There's a lot of forums like this on the web.

I deadlift 350, squat 280(not maxed on either). How is it that you deadlift less?

What type of squat are you doing? high bar? low bar? probably not sumo. Make sure your shoulder blades are pinched together.. this helps keep your back tight so you can maintain your lordic arch at the bottom. Make sure you are not butt winking at the bottom either... tight hamstrings can cause that heh..
