Is this basically a "new girlfriend has ripped me away from SC" thread. You poor soul, same thing happend with me and WoW. I played it nonstop for hours each day lvling/pvping/raiding ect because I wanted to be better then everyone I had that "passion" you described. Now I cant play 5 minutes without being bored out of my mind and I quit.

I played all 3 races and practiced the bos for all mus and terran is NOT my style, always in def position and setting up and pushing forward or harassing with vultures i guess is ok but not as fun as storm drops or dt sniping drones or just seeing hydras melt under blankets of storms, and just how the goon's projectile just moves to damage its target how the zealot stabs the enemy, how the zergling blood pile up all around the archon's might, and how reavers with superb micro with shuttle can EXPLODE a whole mineral field of workers and just seeing the enemy goons pop with reaver scarabs. How many arbs stasis half the terran army and mopping up the other half. How the carriers arrive in its majesty. Oh how the corsair scouts like those u2 planes and seeing the enemy's tech. I think the joke is fine as long as something useful follows it. To reiterate my earlier post though, I think the OP is making this blog a little too quickly. Might be iCCuping a week from now haha.

If I understand you correctly. You say you quit Protoss because you hated to lose?
Perhaps another variable to this equation? Doesn't add up right no matter how I break it down.

no i meant before when i was really passionate about this game i would play until like 5 am in the morning until i would get a convincing win or until i fell asleep. Thats why i brought that up why i hated to lose. But yeah now when i lose its like meh... idc its all good as long as im having fun.

I'll still be playing sc i didn't say i was gonna quit completely, its just i feel like the desire to improve and stuff is gone, and i just dont have the will to play this game for long periods of time like i used to.

whenever i get bored i switch races and play it about a week or so. then it gets fun again

well she is a part of my new life, but i feel like i need something more and that is God. Dude, I have literally manually destroyed my starcraft CDs before because I wanted to quit, and somehow I still am playing. I am not saying that you will be back for sure, I am just saying that you are being a bit radical.

Executor says that it's ok to switch races coz the protoss warrior in you never dies. You should play a bit for fun and when you see some league like SC2GG or Ansadi your daemon will wake up, you shall see

Anyway C- is decent. It is godlike compared to the random RTS player.

Anyway i lost the passion too. This game is becoming so repetitive + the number of hours you need to play to be decent is just huge.

It is for the better, playing 5 hours a day just seems so useless, were you training to be in tourneys? Because 5 hours for casual purposes is just too much. Its good that your going out, socializing and stuff.

Yeah, it was hard for me also to realize that starcraft wasn't everything in my life. Now I'm doing much, much better @ college and getting kickass internships.

ahah even if i won't really play bw now i think i will still visit TL too and watch some bw matchs ( mostly finals or epic Bo5 )
i used to watch LOTS of replays but now ... eh i'm usually bored of all this 3 hatchs / Fe crap on the same terrible macro maps.

Ok heres a little of my sc background, i had the game since 8th grade so about 3 years ago, but i only played like ums and occassionally melee, but never really got into it. Then a year ago, i was like damn i suck at this game, so i started around may of 2008. I started to practice 5 hours a day like maybe 3 months ago. Before it was like playing 10 games per couple days as long as i showed improvement was good enough, but then my passion for sc kept growing and then after my 5 hours a day, i took a break from sc and started to hang out with friends. I was like D- probably season 5 i think? then i got to D+ 6th season then 7th season c-, and now i reached C- within a few weeks of season 8 and now im just not into sc that much ill probably play some later or from time to time, but just not 5 hours a day kind of thing.

I mean I still would want to play a few games but after those games I'm done for awhile. I used to practice Starcraft for like 5 hours at least a day and I tried so hard to improve all my mechanics and timings and game sense. I HATED to LOSE. Whenever I lost a game ESPECIALLY TO A CHEESE. I would go like OMFG im gonna pwn the next guy, and I would keep playing until i would get a convincing win with the best mechanics i've got to show.
