It was really great and I recommend the game to ANYONE who likes resident evil 4. It's basically that + a few tiny cool updates, awesome coop and in Africa.

Not so sure about RE5... I also heard through word of mouth that tons of people are going crazy about it being racist because it depicts zombie black people (in Africa imagine that lol) edit: when I tried playing Re4... I played about 5 hours and then booted up Re2 and played through the entire game in one sitting :-/

I thought the co-op is/was [I am only 60% done RE5] fantastic and it suits the game style well. The only complaint I have is that it cuts 35 - 40% of the screen when you try co-op player on the same TV, luckily my TV is big enough so it's not so bad. As you can see, this is what RE5 looks like on your TV when you initiate co-op on the same system [like with a buddy], it's odd, but it's worth it to maintain the aspect ratio.

I think that the graphics and presentation of the game are the best of any other 360 game I own which includes titles such as gears 1&2, prince of persia, dead space... I understand that the main story may be a little short but knowing Capcom there will be a load of replay value in the form of unlockable content.

On February 16 2009 09:02 NeVeR wrote: With RE4 they completely changed the way the game was played. Resident Evil used to be an adventure/puzzle game (you could even call it a strategy game I suppose, since there is a decent amount of strategy involved with knowing when to conserve ammo, managing your inventory, and knowing in what order to do the tasks of the game and which paths to take to go about doing them, especially if you're aiming to finish the game within a certain time frame). They've now turned it into a "shoot 'em up" FPS type of game that requires very little to no thought whatsoever. And the result? RE4 sold more than any other RE I believe - the most popular RE game by far. It's a sad fact, but game developers have now realized that they can make all the more money by simply catering to the mindless masses, who do not demand quality gameplay, but simply wish to see explosions and fancy-looking graphics on the screen. Which is why console games suck nowadays. Nearly everything that gets praise is FPS-oriented, and it's all the same sugar-coated shit with various superficialities. I don't know when RE5 is coming out (or if it's out already), but from what I read it's sure to be the same joke of an RE game that RE4 was. It's unfortunate, but they've also now made a mockery of the Final Fantasy series, it seems. Oh well. At least I don't have any reason to waste money on these new systems. Btw you should play the remake of the original RE for GC, if you haven't already. One of the only reasons to buy a GameCube imo (along with Super Smash Brothers Melee). And as it turns out, RE5 is the same heap of trash that RE4 was.

The game felt more like gears of war than the traditional RE games, and they completely removed the scary factor. Ammo is definitely more plentiful than in previous games. The puzzles are not very demanding, and sometimes feel more like a chore than challenging. They kept the very frustrating cutscenes where you have to smash buttons or die and start the scene over. Although to be fair, they put a check point immediately before the cut scene with no gay dialogue you have to hear a dozen times. Some bosses are epic, some are not. For example on the last boss we died 19 times before figuring out to do. Details follow + Show Spoiler + For the last boss, + Show Spoiler + Wesker Well, the logical thing anybody would do would be to try to reunite as soon as possible. So, we spent like 18 deaths trying to punch down the rock (a minigame for Leon) and get Sheva to save herself after she grabs the ledge before she dies (very annoying square mashing). Once reunited we would shoot the boss with everything we had making him stumble and fall back every once in a while giving us the impression we were hurting him, and he just had that much life. Turns out Sheva is not suppose to reunite with Leon immediately, but instead shoot a spot on the last boss's back which brings him near her. Then after Sheva runs to Leon and Leon shoots the boss in the back too, everybody gets teleported to the high ground where the final epic showdown should occur. Here's how our fight went, Leon shot boss with a grenade launcher to keep him from advancing too much, after a few shots his weakspot shows up, Sheva rocket launchers boss in chest, boss dies. It took about 20 seconds. Perhaps the most disappointing last boss I've ever faced. Also, I never found any yellow herbs and was sorely disappointed to not get to make my green, red, yellow combo that I am so fond of in RE. Another thing that was frustrating that playing on co-op, after the super hi res scenes, the game looks like crap for a while. Overall, I would give this game about 7.5/10. If it were another title sold as a fps I would give it a higher score, because on the fps stage, its pretty darn good. But its deviation from traditional RE, pretty stale bosses, and annoying cut scenes keep me from really recommending it.

Really lovely tying up with other plots. One lovely little thing is that in the load screens (and the game loads SO quickly btw :D ) it gives a bunch of like history data about all the activities in other resi games, with a timeline dating back from ages ago. It's pretty much a culmination of a plan that the creator of umbrella had all the way back from 1967. In response to that guy who loves the previous to RE4 games, well whatever. They completely changed the series in RE4, and in my opinion; all the previous RE games were just searching for a good game. Once they added in a hitman-esque rear FPS view, a quite difficult aiming system, more fighting and less ridiculous puzzles, as well as more location changing (BTW resi 5 feels like you are going across the whole of bloody africa, AWESOME), the game got SICK. Resi 4 was in the top 3 games of the gamecube imo. Resi 5 is not as revolutionary, so it would get from me about an 8.5/10, but still a very solid game and fun to play through. Resi 5 is definitely not racist wtf lol, it just takes a classic theme, 'natives' from Indiana Jones. + Show Spoiler + The temple Super secret underground laboratory Super secret underground laboratory About the bosses, yeah it kind of gets annoying in ALL resi games that the bosses are just one big puzzle to crack, and then repeat 3 times to win. But I found the puzzles were a bit more engaging. You fight the final boss 3 times, each with separate challenges. About the cutscenes with action timing, meh I find them original and fun. Good ol' shenmue, that fucking amazing and innovative game that they never made any more of . REMEMBER that you can just press 'back' during those cutscenes and almost immediately be given the action timing, you dont have to watch the whole thing through. The game is quite difficult really. The enemies are a LOT harder to be gay with (knife trickery and walking back and forward is very hard when the enemies have crazy weapons). If the game gave people less checkpoints, some parts would verge on impossible for all but the most hardcore resi players. But in summary, resi 4 and 5 are just SO different from the previous resi's, but SO much better. There's a lot more going on in them, and a lot more of an awesome intense battle feeling than just running around a mansion a hundred times to find x key which fits into x box bla bla bla. Like I said, if you LIKE resi 4, you'll like resi 5 and should get it. If you didn't like what they did with resi 4, then don't. Also, if you have NEVER played a resi game GET RESI 4 or 5. Because only fanboys will prefer the previous ones. It's like fallout fanboys revolting about fallout 3 really. A great game which they missed out on because they wanted something completely different. I personally like to put my trust in developers I like, and roll with whatever new ideas they come up with . And I tell you ONE thing that was getting stale, FUCKING MANSIONS. And I tell you one thing this game doesn't have, fucking mansions .

I'm already tingling with excitement at the thought of co-op mercenaries I'm on chapter 4-2 or 4-3 so I should be done the game soon? well it goes up to 6-3 so depending on how many times you fail you should be done in between 1-5 hours .
