So I just read chapter 89 and + Show Spoiler [BIG SPOILER] +OMG, wtf Isley dies!? That is seriously depressing, especially the WAY he died, getting eaten basically by Abyss Feeders. I really didn't expect that to happen, and it really throws a huge curveball in regards to the power balance on the island. Still, though, it illustrates why I enjoy the manga so much. Anything can happen, main characters die, and it's very realistic (as far as fantasy goes). RIP Isley
Anyone else read the manga? I love it, but that one month waits are murder, especially considering the mangaka LOVES cliff-hangers.
This chapter seriously set up some epic stuff in the near future. Definitely one of my favorite chapters so far. + Show Spoiler +Alicia/Beth, Riful, Clare's group meeting up with Helen and Deneve, etc.
One month wait again. T.T

Haha, I totally know what you mean. In the past, I've resolved to not read it for like a year, and than go back and hit up 12 chapters or what not at once. But every month, that resolve fails, and I end up reading it lol.
I've been wondering lately, what exactly will be produced if Rafaela/Luciela wakes up. Like one being with split personalities? Two beings? Or one being with one personality. If its one of the first two, I could totally see some epic catfight action when they wake up.

Yeah the one month wait forces me to go back into previous chapters cause I lose track of whats going on at times... but this chapter was good, although I dont know, maybe he isnt dead yet? its a possibility always is

btw anime is way way different than the manga specially towards the end, you should read it. it's pretty good

Heh, Raki somehow needs to get a serious powerup (via yoma flesh, or otherwise) for him to be able to compete at the level of the Ghosts/Abyssal Ones/etc.

Riful's body does seem to be better suited to dealing with Abyss Feeders than Easley's was.
Going by the mass devouring + final monologue, I think it's over for Easley.

Well he was supposely trained by Isley and is traveling with the most powerful abyssal. Point is, it was made very clear early in the series that no human was standing a chance even against plain weak yoma. Yet Raki just slashed through a bunch of them.
So I guess he's able to do stuff.
Besides, the Raki and Clare and Priscillia side of the story is the only place where to have a moral twist to the thing.
Unless the author ( highly possible thing ) makes their next encounter totally gay, as in Raki trying to stop Clare from fighting Priscillia but beeing to weak to do anything, I really do hope to see Raki pulling some major upset over the girls -_-;

The chapter where Raki's talking to Rene before she gets captured... she's like "It's not unheard of for normal humans to slay Youma, but we're the ones hired because finding them is the hard part."

The manga is just getting ridiculous now. I hate it how every fighting manga/anime always turns out that the main character has to keep getting stronger and as a result the enemies she faces and the abilities she gains keep getting stronger and stronger and stronger and stronger and stronger, and then the whole storyline just becomes one about who's stronger next etc.
This is as opposed to clever manga and anime like Gintama where the character's skills never actually progress but they are able to come up with new refreshing arcs after each season.

Easley is definately one of my favorite chars in that manga. Teresa as well.
Not enough development on Raki even though there seems to be so much importance placed upon him

After a few chapters of head scratching, this chapter was pretty good

94 was extremely creepy and I was worried I would get nightmares from it.
+ Show Spoiler + Seriously, those little zombie things that Raciella shot out and morphed into grotesque things are just.... scary. Like the grotesque babies from Drakengard. *shudder*
