Hyperdrive, a time attack movie

So I felt the urge to try out editing a movie a few weeks ago, and since I enjoy time attacking I decided to make a movie out of that. Games included are trackmania, bionic commando: rearmed, elastomania and megaman 2. I focused mainly on timing the actions in the video with the audio, but please give feedback on the effects as well. With trackmania and elma I tried to keep the original speed a lot more, since I thought they were exciting to look at anyway (still some syncing with music), and with bionic command and megaman I tried to sync as much as possible.

So feel free to give tips and criticize.

I'm interested in time attacks, so I love seeing videos like these. I noticed some nice things with the video/audio syncing, and I'm glad you didn't try to add many special effects. I think that when you change the speed of the video, however, you might want to give some kind of visual cue or effect to let people know you really are showing altered game footage. That would help out people familiar with the games.

On a wider scale actually I'd say I would prefer to see the game footage unaltered in terms of speed or anything else, but if you're going to do a compilation video like this, it's appropriate. I'm really not familiar with any of the games, but as for the actual time attack content, I do know a little bit about Megaman in general. To me, the Megaman time attack looked really slow. =( There's lots of room for improvement in terms of both strategy and execution.

Yea, these are not WR's or anything. The times are decent though (very unsure in megaman), but yea I know there is room for improvement there (didn't get items to optimize the levels, but rather in the order I would TA the whole game).

I just remembered this site had a good explanation of one major source for MM improvement that's common across many games: jumping off rather than running off ledges. Of course most of the glitch stuff on that page is only reasonable for emulator runs, which is what TASvideos is for, but the above is common in a lot of human-controlled time attacks.

Also you can take damage intentionally in order to go through faster where it helps. The boss looked pretty sloppy, but I can't comment more there because again I don't know MM2 at all. Maybe it was just bad luck.

By the way, you do know about speeddemosarchive, right? Good resource for time attacks videos and discussion.

Yea, I've checked out speeddemosarchive. And yea quickman was not perfect by far, but taking damage doesnt really matter there so I just tried to double hit with the airman weapon as much as possible.
