This is my first blog post on TL.net. Just wondering if anyone has any advice of what the hell to do when you're really, really sick.
I have either tonsillitis or glandular fever (hopefull tonsillitis... TT). It started with a fever on Sunday night, and I've slept like 15 hours a day since then. I can't see my gf, i can't play any competitive games cos i feel to tired and wigged out, and I've watched all of the good t.v shows i have to death (How i met your mother, southpark, futurama, family guy etc.)
Just wondering, what do you guys do when you're sick? It's my holidays atm (summer in aus) and i should really be out enjoying myself, but too bad I'm stuck in my room feeling sorry for myself. Give me some ideas

get started on a 1000 piece puzzle or something, download seasons for some shows youve been meaning to catch up on but have never seen (the day i have to be stuck in my house for like a month with nothing to do I'm dling all the eps of 24), download a bunch of movies, etc.

Create a super germ. Take small doses of antibiotics.

I usually watch documentaries, anime, comedy series or play an RPG.

I get my gameboy colour out and play all my old gameboy games...

Alternatively, you could borrow some videos.

im pretty sure that that's mono (which is glandular fever, unfortunately). tonsilitis is a pain in the ass to deal with though, lol
i actually got it about 50 days ago. some signs to watch out for: pain in the upper left chest, near the heart. also, lymph nodes in the back of your head may be swollen. The extreme fatigue (i.e. sleep a lot) only lasted a day for me, as did the fever. For the most part I was able to get on with my daily life after two-three days. See a doctor as soon as you can also just to make sure its not a bad strep or something. I heard the really bad mono can keep you bedridden for weeks though. Mine lasted only about 30 days total, now i'm fine.
oh, and you can play competitively. start with a few simple ums's, the screen apparently can trick your head into thinking ur staring into the sun, so you wake up. DONT DRINK CAFFEINE as the disease attacks your liver sometimes and caffeine will just make it worse.
Try to force yourself to exercise. Be careful though, this one time I actually got lost... lol. the head should clear up soon though.
In the mean time, may I suggest 30 Rock? :
