You could always try some sort of a torrent to get free movies. Alternatively, http://tv-links.cc/
And really, I've yet to see a movie that left me trembling and scared. Sure, I jump when thing surprise me, but as far as actually scared, I dunno.
I have a feeling that this movie will change things though. + Show Spoiler [Scary] +

Oh man that is a creepy preview, what movie is that?
Oh and...
A lot of movies I found scary are just not anymore since I'm now much older. But some of those movies were...
The Original Amityville Horror Ghosthouse (1988 version, I remember this movie scared the shit out of me when I was like 10. Haven't seen it since though, so I have no idea if it still holds any merit.)
Other than that, not a whole lot of other movies come into mind.

I disagree with this ranking. Most of the movies there can't even be considered scary.

Pewpew's thing is supposedly real

Looks pretty fake to me. That guy looks like a dumbass crawling around too. His name and his pseudonym both come up with nothing from google, so I think it's fake
I watch almost every horror film that comes out and I consider myself a real horror film/exploitation flick buff
I can't really say I've ever seen anything that legitimately SCARED me. There's plenty that makes me jump, or cringe, or wanna throw up, but nothing that is like "holy shit I can't get to sleep cause I'm scared" kinda thing.

It's very loosely based off the serial killer Francois Kendall. He lived in Poughkeepsie, NY. He killed 8 women, and was tagged as the Pughkeepsie Killer..
However he didn't record shit. So maybe its a possible mix of those two stories. Either way it's just another "fake" Hollywood movie, that likes to lure in people by claiming its based on true events.

28 days later is a good movie but not a horror movie is it?
Blair witch project is probably the most retarded and lamest movie ever made. I refuse to believe anyone found that movie scary.
The excorcist is not scary either. I watched that movie many years ago and there is not one scary scene in the entire film. I think you would have to be a serious religious nut to find anything scary about it. The movie has some gross scenes, but gross does not mean scary.
Just one more shitty list if you ask me.

The Eye(original version) is the scariest I've ever seen.

Cape Fear is one of my favorites.

Check these;all 50 are from nineties. Some of the ones on the list are terrible like anaconda and jurassic park, but there are more than a handful good ones there.

Scariest movie I ever saw was "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"
Didn't help that I woke up at 3 am or w/e it was (from the movie) after seeing it.. not even kidding. Needless to say I was a 22 year old scaredy cat that night.
I also saw "The Exorcist" when I was fairly young and I was alone in a dark room.. that freaked me the fuck out.
haven't been any really "scary" films as of late.. they more go for shock or disturbing.
|
I would recommend The Exorcist.
|
Shutter (original) - probably the best shocker I've seen. And the ending is great (if a bit predictable). A Tale Of Two Sisters The Ring (US remake, not the original in this case) The Grudge (original is slightly better I think, but the US remake was OK too) The Exorcist (Director's Cut)

i find most scary movies funny, the others are just plain stupid.
oh and that is a really bad list of supposed scary movies ;x (referring to link in op)

Most horrors are just disgusting or unnerving not scary imho. Good horror/suspense is so rare .
Only horror/suspension I kinda enjoyed (prolly more but these come to mind) Alien, Event Horizon, the Ring, Dawn of the Dead, Rec, Resident Evil, Hansel & Gretel (2007), 1408(meh but ok I guess), Silk (not rly horror though), Silent Hill to name a few.
|
The Exorcist was more disturbing than scary like her twisting her head and stabbing herself with a knife/cross
|
"31. 'The Ring' (2002)" Wat. Ive never seen The Ring only Ringu and I doubt its better than the original... how can a remake be on that list?
4. 'The Shining' (1980) Should be nr1

I know this thread is old, but I was thinking of making a new thread about scariest Halloween movies and realized that there probably already was one somewhere on the forum ('lo and behold, 5 seconds of searching revealed this thread!).
Basically, I was thinking of checking something out at Block Buster and maybe inviting a few friends over. Something really scary.
So, what does everyone here think is the list of top 5 scariest movies of all time?

The last movie I remember scaring me would have to have been Event Horizon. I Was about 13-14 years old. I still love that movie.
More recently, I am Legend, I wouldn't say I was really scared, but I tried putting myself in his shoes and got kind of freaked out at times.
|
Well if you define horror movies as the one that make you feel like you're about to have a heart attack, then the exorcist, especially the first one and the last one. And the japanese "the grudge" made me jump more than once.
Though I would recommend "dead set"; it doesn't make you jump, but it's the damn best zombie production I have ever seen.

NOT Saw 6
Just saw it. Please don't waste your money on it =/
|
You know what movie freaked me the fuck out of the first time i watched it? Seven with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. That whole movie I found really fucked up as a kid when i first saw it.
|
i wouldnt call that a horror movie though
