This is not to say that men don't hold grudges; the difference is that men usually handle the situations directly while women are more passive aggressive in their vindictive streak.

If a guy is holding a grudge for a long time, it's usually more difficult to change his mind; i.e. men are more hardheaded.
Girls can be friends one day, enemies the next, then friends again the day after.
Although, you can make an argument that when a guy holds a grudge, it's usually for a good reason because they don't get involved in petty arguments/fights as much as women. Not sure about this one though 
Dont sweat it bro, shes probably just going through a stressful time due to other factors so this is just compiling on it. She`ll get over it and apologize to you pretty soon I assume.
Do not make excuses or anything, tell her the truth on why she was rejected. It will make it better faster.
