And with it I bought Tetris. I must say it's quite fun. Pwning (and often being owned by) the countless Japanese players over wi-fi is addictively fun.
For all you mofos who have a DS, I'm wondering if any of you have purchased one of those loader cards which you put heaps of ROMs on to play illegally (hehe). If so, what brand of card should I get? R4, M3 and TT seem to be the options to choose from. Can anyone recommend me anything?
(also recommend games hehe!, and feel free to post ur tetris friendcode, mine is 115774811873)

OH MY GOD SWAMI I HAS ONE TOO. i actually ended up buying a few games instead of pirating. plus one of my best friends ended up buying me like 4-5 games.
i need to get the little wifi thing so i can play tetris online TT.
Have not regretted the purchase one bit. so many quality titles.

i think there is no difference between an r4 and m3 except the software. that said, if your on a capped plan, ugh to d/ling ROMs, orelse download like the romset as of now and put ROMs for top games as rated by gamespot or something.
i definitely recommend the world ends with you and trauma center,

Ooooooh i've wanted to play the world ends with you for so long. must find a copy.

Definitely get one of the cards, they enhance your enjoyment so much. Tetris DS is actually really fun to play vs friends too, even people who aren't normally into gaming get extremely competitive with it in my experience.

Yeah, there seem to be no limits. You can trade pokemon from ROMs over the wifi pokemon network for example.

I remember my psp. I remember the good times spent with it. selling it mainly

CycloDS is probably the best, it's what I use. Not sure where you live in AUS, but there is a 'official' reseller located in WA (Perth or Fremantle iirc) who does shipping aus wide.

I use a TT card (of course I only use it with ROMs of games I have actually purchased. Otherwise that would be pirating. And pirating is bad, right? ) and it works very well. Games I like : The world ends with you, Elite Beat Agents, FF XII : Revenant Wings, Metroid Prime Hunters. If you like Tetris likes and puzzle games, I'd recommend Meteos, Prism : light the way, and Warlords Puzzle Quest Challenge.
I don't regret buying a DS at all. I have had hours of fun with it, and it comes in handy in a train, plane, or anytime you have an appointment and have to wait for at least 1/2H.

where did u get an r4?
|
R4 and M3 are pretty much the same. I don't know anything about the others, but I reckon they're probably all the same as well
My incredibly unbias opinion will recommend Contra 4. Can't wifi that though, so that's a shame. I haven't met anyone that has Contra 4 so I've never played multiplayer.

R4 is terrible
For the same price CycloDS is where its at man Savestates, fast firmware updates, Slowmotion, Fast foward and SDHC support (16 gb OMG)
Also there are ALOT of R4 fakes which can brick your DS Not to mention, its the same price.

R4s are out of production IIRC. Currently, the best slot 1 option for DS homebrew is the CylcoDS, but they all do basically the same thing, so if you want, you can just get whatever cheap one you find.
|
I used to have an M3 Simply. Worked great. Then I sold my DS Lite. Then I got another DS Lite and got CycloDS. Works great, too. I haven't heard too much commotion about fake M3's or CycloDS's, so you should probably look into one of those, rather than R4.
Games I recommend: Phoenix Wright games and the Apollo Justice game (which is a sequel to Phoenix Wright) Professor Layton and the Curious Village Pokemon! Final Fantasy IV

i have an r4 and its been working flawlessly.
you have to update it everynow and then for newer games to work
|
PHOENIX WRIGHT. Now. One of the best and most unique games you'll ever play.
|
I have an R4, but I hear from word of mouth that CycloDS is the best. I might get a CycloDS since 2GB is limiting for me. 2GB might sound a lot until you fill it up fast with roms, emulators, homebrew, & mp3.

GUYS PLAY LOCK'S QUEST, just finshed it really good gameplay and pretty good story
|
i like zelda the phantom hourglass.. and tetris haha yea i was at a poker tournament once with my friends and as each person dropped out we ended up playing multiplayer tennis on ds haha
|
Castlevania: Order of Ecclasia is pretty cool, I just started playing that.
For games I just go to: http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/ and look at what the 10 most popular games are and pick ones I think I might like (So not Pokemon 3 different times)

I have an R4 as well, which works great. With all of the homebrews and roms available, who needs real ds games
|
Why didnt you just download the roms + emulator
|
for DS all you need is "Puzzle Quest - Challenge Of The Warlords"
|
i bought an r4 online and it was fine for me people say theres lag but i didnt feel any
and its like 45 dollars for a r4 card with a 2 gig micro sd which is like the cost of a game or maybe 2 games
so if u install 2 games on it, ur ahead since u dont have to switch cartridges to change games
