So... before I get into the main stuff just a quick general update. I finally found a goddamn Seoul teaching job. I think I'm going to make a guide just on the bastard of a process that is finding teaching jobs in Korea for others out there. Suffice to say however, that finding said "EZ" teaching job was just as stressful as finding a training contract as a solicitor in Central London. Madness.
Anyway, I should be leaving in ~10 days so YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
I've continued to meet up with Koreans (new and old) over the past two weeks and its been really fun. I still cannot find the line between 'Korean friendliness' and shall we say 'Korean more-than-friendliness.' Fucking confusing and awkward sometimes.

One thing I didn't mention last time is how patriotic Koreans are. Compared to the average apathetic Brit who only feels nationalistic pride at times of hooliganism and when we beat the French at absolutely anything, Koreans love their country quite a bit. It's funniest when they get started on Japan. The people I met aren't racist against Japan by any means but they definitely want to trump Japan in any way shape or form. Be it sport, culture, or whatever, they love to get competitive with their Jap neighbours. The funniest thing is that they acknowledge that it's apparently entirely one-way. The Japanese don't really care about Korea in the same way at all. lol
Anywayyyy, I shall continue to call my Korean acquaintances by numbers...hah

I forgot to mention this last time. This girl went to 인하 (Inha) University which apparently hosts student SC tournaments quite frequently. One time she visited one of these tournaments as her friend was playing in it. She said she talked to some nice guy who eventually dominated the whole thing. Intrigued, I asked for his name. "이윤열" she replied, "You probably don't know him." No bells rung - probably some random noob I thought. It was only a couple days later I checked the name on TLPD....

It was only motherfucking NADA!

This girl fulfilled the Korean/Oriental stereotype perfectly when she gave me a good rant against black people. But it is kindof understandable pleasereadonkthx. She lives in Elephant and Castle which is a less well off area of London with lots of African immigrants. She was walking back to her home from the bus stop one night when she saw two black guys following her. She was completely alone btw. She spun around and the guys backed off a little. Starting to panic, she quickened her pace but soon she heard the sound of running footsteps behind her. (How fucking scary). When she turned around again, it was too late.
One of the black guys grabbed hold of her handbag but she held on to it. This caused the other guy to knock her to the ground. Luckily, she wasn't hurt very much but the guys got away with her bag. 2 extra things pissed me off when she told the story. 1) it was only her 4th day in England when this happened and 2) while she was screaming all over the place, she saw two other people walk by who did absolutely fucking nothing. Awesome.

An odd girl. I asked her (in barely intelligible Korean ofc) what hobbies etc. she had... "Sleeping" she said dead serious. "Mmm?" I replied. "Sleeping!" she said again. I did an awkward laugh and changed topic. A couple of days alter, I rang her at 3 in the afternoon asking when to meet up next. A groggy voice picked up the phone: "Yo bo sehyo?". "You're still in bed!! Have you been drinking late again?" I teased. Her: "No, I went to bed at 7 yesterday!!." Me: "You mean you went to bed this morning at 7 right???" Her: "No, 7pm yesterday!" Me: "WOW."

I keep saying how Koreans are friendly and nice blahblahblah, but this girl is really that. E.g., whenever she types an email, she translates it to Korean as well and explains all kinds of stuff. When we meet, she's also so patient when I take twenty fucking hours to get my head around Korean sentence structure and say something non-retarded.
She's introduced me to soju and baby octopus flavoured Kcrisps (surprisingly good combo). She's also a bit of a gamer (woo!) having played SC a little bit and Sudden Attack a lot (Korean version of CS). Think I'll miss her (strictly friend-wise) when I go to Korea

I thought I had more funny/interesting shit to say but obviously not......
