It's 9pm and I am meant to go to the college bar for my friend's 21st birthday. I think she is going down tonight, but anyways, b/c my bike was nonfunctional I had to walk the 30 minute walk with an umbrella. Slow, slow trip. I get there, congratulate her on her 21st, etc, the day coincides with a lot of the cambridge colleges' graduation dates, so my college bar is filled with pple who have graduated and are having drinks, along with their friends, etc. I say congrats congrats to a couple other friends who were around who finished their 3rd and final year - one was going to London for Medschool, one was going to Panama for zoology research.
Becuase I have to catch a 5:30am train tomorrow, I excuse myself at 10:30 to walk back up the hill. Halfway back I am in a dark and seculded passageway with minimal lighting. It was then that I noticed a small frog hopping its way across the path. It dawned on me that this was really the first time I had seen a frog since my childhood days in Japan during the rainy season of June, when I was enrolled in elementary school there briefly.
The moist smell of rain in the air, the heavy but rather cool atmosphere and the frog hopping along brought back memories of old that I hadn't visited in quite some time.
