how come one rine loses two one ling and you get to lings for 50 min... i mean its almost always impossible for a terran to defend if your enemy is like at the base nearest to you and it is hard to micro since lings are a little fastr then rines... the onle solution to stop a rush is to block your ramp but lets say its on a map that doesn\'t have a ramp and instead theres a wide open gap and normally when the lings get there i have one or two rines against six lings and if you read the title one rine loses against one ling!

You mean two lings, not to lings. But thats why you scout and then if they rush, you block with scvs on the ramp.

Then you're in the wrong place, or you're playing the wrong maps. Most tournament maps will give you at least a decent choke choke to work with. Besides, unless they did a <9pool build, you'll quickly have a critical mass of Marines that can hold just about any number of lings, given they don't catch you in a great flank.

If there's no ramp yet some kind of choke, you can wall off part of the opening with barracks and/or your first supply depot (you need to make sure your block works and is lingtight where you think it is). The remaining gap you can treat like your ramp. If there's truly no choke at all, you build your barracks right by your CC and mineral line, and defend with marines inside the mineral line. Scvs can be pulled right from where they are to defend, as scv + marines > lings as long as you keep the paths to your marines blocked.

it's also very frustrating when 10 marines kill 50 lings without even taking any damage... starcraft is great isn't it?

Also keep in mind the opportunity cost of 1 pair of lings is more than 50 minerals (larvae for a drone), while for a Terran it is simply the 50 bux.
