I joined The AirForce about 5months ago. Now im about to leave for basic training in 2 weeks. I just have a couple questions before I start my life.
1.) Is there anyone else in TL that is in the United States Military. If so what branch?
2.) Would it be a good idea to make the Air Force a career and retire with benefits and a pention for life? Or take what ive learned from the Air Force and try my luck in the civilian world.
3.) I have what its called a Dream Sheet. I have 5 places where I would like to go in the world. So far I only have one place where I really want to go, which is Seoul Korea. I would like 1-2 other spots out of the United States and 2-3 In the US.

Actually I'm interested in the Canadian Forces, specifically the Air Force >_> <_<

You should try to gain training or education in the military that can be applied to civilian life aswell. Like logistics and economics etc. Or atleast thats what I would want to, since you don't know if you want to stay in the military indefinetly.

if i could pick a rank in the military, it would be airforce for sure.
i recommend you stay on there and make a carrer. Air force is so badass

My military experience is not an american one but it can answer the later 2 questions.
2) Ultimately you will know what you like and whether you plan to make a life career out of it. The comradeship that you experience in armed forces is like not other and as ive grown accustomed to it , i've realized how valuable it is in real life (even in MiR :o !). Once you get in and get some experience you'll get a feel for what the right decision will be.
3) Travelling will be no problem. Especially to seoul where there is still a sizeable US presence. Getting posted there or at least jumping on a service flight for a holiday should be little issue.

Cool, Thanks. Yah I'll probably stay because of the Pention and benefits. But if you guys got any locations other than Seoul Korea I can visit it, give me some ideas please.

I've been in the United States Navy for a little over five years and I am preparing to reenter the civilian sector in August of next year.
It depends on the quality of life and the goals you set yourself while in the Air Force. (From what I hear, the quality of life in the Air Force is the best in comparison to other branches). Personally, I am taking what I have learned in the Navy (a lot, in my job field! - electronics) and moving on to bigger and better things that I am passionate about. It's been quite a journey that has taken me to, oh about thirteen different countries.
Unlike most sailors, I've been fortunate enough to spend a great deal of my naval career on shore duty. I spent two years in the United States alone attending various electronic courses and specialty classes. My last duty station was in Sicily, Italy, and that was an awesome experience. I highly suggest getting stationed somewhere in Europe. (In fact, I believe they have several stations in northern Italy, such as Aviano).

Your #2 will be answered by yourself as you serve with the airforce, but if you actually become a pilot in the airforce and get experience, leaving for a civilian job as a airline pilot could be a good idea.

I would think outside of the US you would want to focus on places that speak a language you are familiar with (Seoul aside).

in regards to #2 a think a common military joke would apply:
after a 5 mile run an Army infantry recruit in boot camp said "this is shit". after a 10 mile run in full pack a marine recruit in boot camp said "THIS is shit". after after crawling 15 miles in the mud behind enemy lines with a full pack in a mesquito infested third world country a ranger said "this is THE shit". after jumping out of a helicopter, swiming 5 miles to shore, crawling through the mud for 20 miles in 100 degree heat behind enemy lines to lie in motionless for 3 days to scout an enemy position a navy seal said "god give me more of this shit."...
An air force officer came into his office to find the air conditioning had gone out and said "what the fuck is this shit???"
