Definition of best friend in English: best friend noun A person’s closest friend: Michael was Frank’s best friend he’s best friends with Eddie within a month we were best friends (source: Oxford Dictionary)
So, i have been a bit in a slump recently, didn't get shit done and was generally lazy. Studies went well, but aside of this, i couldn't motivate me to do much. Then about one month ago, my best friend came back from his studies abroad to my hometown, and i actually couldn't refuse to go out the first time in the past quarter year. Hell it was an awesome evening, i haven't had that much fun for a long time. Luckily he is an awesome best friend, and i know him since we were little children, so he knows he has to drag me out, because i won't socialise with many people if he doesn't do it.
This time it was different than the other times before though. Normally i go with him to a party, a disco, to see a movie with friends or drink a few beers somewhere, not much, and normally i won't stay too long, but this time, we met some people from school, we had last met some years ago. And there she stood, the girl that sat next to me for 3 years in school, and damn, she's beautiful nowadays. We were good friends when we were still in school, but i never considered to ask her out because i already had a GF at the time, but a month ago i was single, so i thought "why not go for it?". Fortunately it went well, so i have a GF for a month now already =)
Good thing my best friend dragged me out that night, because i would probably still be single now if he hadn't done it. Having best friend that know you probably better than you know yourself is actually key. It is so good to have someone who is always there for you no matter what, someone you can tell everything, i don't know where i would be without him.
Because of this, i want to make this a thank you to all the best friends out there: You are awesome, best friends make life so much more enjoyable. Everyone, please take some time and thank your best friend, they are worth it!

You seem to have noticed great signs of fertility in an opposing sex!!
Here is a quick illustration of what you may have noticed, I use Seohyun from Girls Generation because she is ...well an 11/10

It is also true that similar races are attracted to each other: are you guys the same nationality?

Fine choice for not asking her out while you were still taken! It could cause jealousy and a lot of black eyes if your ex found out!!
So now, you are in a position where you see an attractive fertile female, your confidence of her past secured because you actually knew her. So why not?
Exactly!! why not It's a classic example of economic game theory. There are 4 options:
2 are about asking her. There is a 50/50 chance (lets just say it is for simplicity) of getting a succesful date!
Ask her: she says no Relationship unsuccesful Ask her: she says yes Relationship Success!
The other 2 options are don't ask her: there is NO chance of getting a date...but look at the first option below carefully...
Don't ask her: she wanted to be with you Relationship failure! Don't ask her: she didn't want to be with you Relationship failure!
Thats right! Option 3 could have been a success, but you never found out because you never asked!
So it is quite smart to ask: not asking will have a 0% success rate, while asking gives you at LEAST 50% !!! Now you have secured your mate young lad!!!
There is a last piece of advice, which will seem quite dark and intrusive, but it is only the truth. So read on if you wish

EDIT: Oh yeah! best friends are awesome as well they make you smile so much! The hunch atm is that the smile developed "over 30 million years of evolution to a "fear grin" stemming from monkeys and apes who often used barely clenched teeth to portray to predators that they were harmless"... so having your friend around can make everything seem like it's going well..but it may not be so keep paying attention to reality!!!
